The only thing that bothers me is how much the dude here looks like Nick, even though it wasnβt my intention at all... but eh. could be a relative maybe? I feel like thatβs a lame cop-out, think I might have to redesign this guy. would love to draw more extra fluffy male arctic foxes in the future, though.
very undecided about this honestly, but weβll see! Hope you guys like the sketch nonetheless. Would love to hear your thoughts and/or ideas!
EDIT: I added some cool hair to the boy. if deviantart taught 12 year old me anything, that officially makes him an Original Characterβ’ now. donut steel
EDIT 2: They now have much shorter ears, like actual arctic foxes! Thank you to everyone who pointed this out β€οΈ

I like seeing these random OCs you create almost as much as seeing your art Of Nick and Judy. There are millions of denizens in Zootopia, and this helps breathe a little life into them :D
2021-04-30 07:51:27 +0000 UTCGreat emotion, here. Yeah, shrinking ears might help. Such big ears in the Artic would be heat sinks in a bad way. RL artics have those adorable small rounded ears, very fluffy. That would help differentiate the Nickness... Really like the piece! Thanks. Stubat

I think if you want to distinguish them from Red Foxes like Nick, much like what colonel said, their ears tend to be much smaller n rounder, and their muzzles are a bit shorter n petite looking. All things to play around with or explore, but I'd love to see you keep these two foxxos please :>

You could always give him a piercing or a nick (ha) out of one ear or something if you wanted to further distinguish him, I suppose. :3 That aside, the piece screams the exact mood reflected in its title, so I'd call it a great success whether you go on to do more with it or not.
