Pokemon: Raised by Legends, Chapter 45-46

Chapter 45 - Ho-Oh: This Child Is Meant to Be Mine

Fuyuki didn’t want to die.

Sure, throwing trash straight into Giratina’s Distortion World would be incredibly convenient, but that was just way too unethical.

He kept reading. Besides the Distortion World disposal module, the fully automated toilet could also be paired with a dedicated conversion machine.

The machine processed waste into organic fertilizer and biogas. One could be used for crops, the other for power generation.

Sold.

With a thought, a toilet materialized out of thin air in the marble-tiled bathroom.

The conversion unit installed itself beneath the toilet, embedded directly into the mountain rock, linking up with the fully automated Pokemon ecological park and the generator. The biogas it produced flowed straight into the generator, keeping the entire ecosystem and several appliances running.

As for everyday household trash…

Fuyuki searched the system shop.

【Muk’s Nest: A lair designed in Muk’s signature style, perfectly blending landfill and sludge terrain. If Muk is placed here, it will treat all nearby trash as food. Cost: 2000 Shock Points.】

【Garbodor’s Nest: A lair designed in Garbodor’s signature style. Trash can be dumped here daily, and the Garbodor living inside will automatically consume it. Cost: 2000 Shock Points.】

“Using Pokemon to deal with garbage, huh?”

That didn’t surprise him much. This world had all kinds of Pokemon, and their tastes were just as varied.

Some liked Berries. Some liked cake. Others fed on emotions or souls.

For Muk and Garbodor, human-produced trash was their favorite meal.

The problem was…

Neither nest came with the Pokemon themselves. If he wanted to use them, he’d have to go out and catch a Muk or Garbodor on his own.

That was clearly impossible for him right now.

Luckily, the shop also offered direct trash decomposition. Twenty Shock Points per use. Fine in the short term, but over time, relying on Pokemon would be far more cost-effective.

Toilet. Bathtub. Sink. Showerhead.

Before long, the bathroom was finished.

Next came the kitchen.

The home was in shambles, and Fuyuki patched it together piece by piece.

Ho-Oh stood to the side, watching with open fascination.

Furniture, rugs, wallpaper, appliances. He pulled them out like magic tricks, one after another.

Once a room was done, the little one rushed straight to the next. He even used Secret Power to carve out a second floor.

Gradually, the empty, barren “cave” transformed into a cozy home, warm and inviting, yet still full of natural charm.

“All done!”

After placing the final bed in the upstairs bedroom, Fuyuki clapped his hands, satisfied.

The Secret Base had been remodeled into a perfect three-bedroom, one-living-room, two-bath home.

The entire residence was built inside Mount Tensei. The first floor held the living room, dining area, storage room, and kitchen, all connected to the space housing the Pokemon ecological park.

Up the stairs, the second floor was where he planned to sleep together with his Pokemon.

Since everyone was family, he turned the entire floor into one huge room, wooden floors covered with a thick, soft carpet.

When winter came, he could sleep right here with Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Marshadow, and Ho-Oh, all piled together.

The large upstairs room also had a fireplace. He even carved out a window, offering a view of the scenery beyond Mount Tensei.

Compared to human homes, Pokemon probably preferred places closer to nature.

So he replaced all the walls and floors with wood, making the base feel like a giant treehouse.

There was also a cabinet stocked with drinks and snacks. If he got hungry or thirsty, he could grab something anytime.

After working nonstop, he was exhausted.

Fuyuki wiped the sweat from his forehead and collapsed onto the carpet, panting.

Ho-Oh looked around the space and asked with interest, “This place is?”

“This is where I sleep with Entei, Marshadow, Raikou, Suicune, and you too!” Fuyuki grinned.

Ho-Oh froze, genuinely taken aback. “Me as well?”

This human child… he thought of it everywhere.

Whether it truly needed a place like this was beside the point. That sincerity alone was precious beyond measure.

“Of course!” Fuyuki chuckled. After the past couple of days, he’d realized Ho-Oh wasn’t as distant or untouchable as the legends made it sound.

At least compared to Giratina, it was incredibly easy to get along with.

“When winter comes, you should stay here with us too,” he said.

Ho-Oh gazed at its Rainbow Hero with those golden-red eyes and answered softly, “Very well. I promise.”

“Whew… I’m beat, Ho-Oh. I’m going to sleep.” Fuyuki yawned.

“Sleep,” Ho-Oh said gently. “I will watch over you until you wake.”

Reassured, Fuyuki drifted off beside it.

After a moment, Ho-Oh looked at the lightly dressed human child and lowered its body, sheltering him beneath its wings.

Like a brooding hen protecting a chick.

As it surveyed the surroundings and recalled the day’s events, disbelief filled its golden-red eyes.

It had never imagined that their little one possessed such incredible power.

Pure-hearted. Kind. Adores Pokemon.

This child was born to be their Rainbow Hero.

Fuyuki slept straight through until five in the morning.

Before opening his eyes, he felt like he was wrapped in something warm.

Entei was back?

When he finally looked, it wasn’t Entei beside him.

It was Ho-Oh.

He was tucked beneath it like a chick, completely covered.

The downy feathers on its belly were warm and soft, like the finest silk in the world. He couldn’t help burying his face into them.

So comfy.

As he fumbled around, his fingers brushed against something loose.

He picked it up, then stared in shock. “Ho-Oh, you’re shedding!”

“…”

“That is a Rainbow Wing,” Ho-Oh said quietly. “It is a manifestation of my power. When I am not here, it will protect you in my stead.”

It was something Ho-Oh had prepared while he slept.

Chapter 46 - The Backyard

“Are you leaving, Ho-Oh?” Fuyuki asked.

It shook its head. “This is only a gift for you.”

In truth, Ho-Oh even wanted to stay on Mount Tensei and raise the little one itself, guiding him from the very beginning and shaping him into a Rainbow Hero.

Hearing that, Fuyuki finally relaxed.

He still wanted to ask Ho-Oh to take him to a human city sometime later.

After yesterday’s spending spree, his six million Shock Points had dropped to three million.

He planned to buy a few things he’d wanted for a while, then dump everything else into Rare Candy to level up Entei.

“Not just Entei,” he thought. “Raikou, Suicune, Marshadow, and Ho-Oh too.”

Before he turned ten, could he get Ho-Oh’s whole group to level 100?

If he managed that, he wouldn’t have to fear anything while traveling in the future.

Even a utopia like the Pokemon world had its share of villains.

Team Rocket’s boss, Giovanni, was a powerful Trainer, someone who had even controlled Mewtwo for a time.

In some stories, Team Rocket had gone after Raikou, trying to capture it.

Fuyuki didn’t want Raikou, Suicune, Entei, Marshadow, or Ho-Oh getting taken without him even knowing.

Ho-Oh was strong, sure, but humans had monsters too. People like Pryce, who had once slain a god with nothing but a Swinub and a Delibird.

He just didn’t know if this world had the Pryce he remembered.

All things considered, playing it safe felt smarter.

Maxing out Entei alone would take four million Shock Points.

Add Raikou, Suicune, Marshadow, and Ho-Oh, and it would cost around twenty million in total.

“One run gives six million. Three runs should about do it.”

Perfect.

After that, he could just ask Ho-Oh to take him flying a few more times.

Fuyuki checked his balance. Three million left.

First things first, eat.

With forty Shock Points deducted, a bottle of Moomoo Milk and a serving of bird Pokemon specialty food appeared in front of him and Ho-Oh.

The system said Spearow loved this stuff. No idea if Ho-Oh would.

“Here.” He handed the food over.

Ho-Oh didn’t refuse. It accepted the offering without hesitation.

After a quick breakfast, Fuyuki climbed downstairs and headed to the ecological park in his backyard, stopping on a stretch of open grass near the house.

Warm sunlight spilled over him. He planted his hands on his hips, looking like he was surveying the land.

A blue shop panel appeared before his eyes.

【Farmland: 9x9 plot with high-quality soil. Any crop planted here will grow vigorously. Can be placed anywhere. Cost: 5000 Shock Points.】

【Fish Pond: A breeding pond with a built-in water circulation system. Can raise edible fish or serve as an ideal habitat for water-type Pokemon. Cost: 5000 Shock Points.】

【Automatic Sprinkler: An automated watering device for farmland. Cost: 1000 Shock Points.】

Since he’d decided to live on Mount Tensei with the others, he couldn’t rely on buying meals from the system forever.

The food was fine, but it always felt like ordering takeout.

Growing their own just felt more reassuring.

Sure, he was too young to cook right now, but people grew up eventually.

And if they grew too much food, that was fine too.

He’d spotted something special in the shop.

【Shipping Box: A special tool from a certain farming world. Place harvested crops or unused materials inside, and they will be automatically settled the next day and converted into Shock Points. Cost: 100000 Shock Points.】

“Isn’t this straight out of that classic farming game?” His interest spiked immediately.

No hesitation. Buy it.

With a dull thump, like a lid closing, a wooden box appeared beside him.

Shipping box ready. Next up, farmland.

Each plot cost 5000 Shock Points. He bought twenty at once.

With a hundred thousand Shock Points gone, a neat expanse of fertile fields appeared before him, rich soil waiting to be planted.

After that came the fish pond.

Not only could it raise fish, it could also serve as a perfect home for water-type Pokemon.

Like the adorably goofy Quagsire.

With a thought, a clear pond formed in place.

Ho-Oh stood behind him, unfazed by the spectacle.

Its gaze swept over the strange space.

Or rather, this hidden realm.

It had already sensed it yesterday. The natural energy here was far denser than outside.

If Pokemon stayed here long-term, it would benefit them greatly.

Stronger bodies. More power. Larger frames.

Interest flickered in Ho-Oh’s eyes.

Their little one truly was favored by nature.

“All done!”

With the backyard’s basic facilities complete, Fuyuki was in a great mood.

After all that, he still had over 2.7 million Shock Points left.

He planned to convert all of that into Rare Candy later for Entei.

With the fields and pond placed, the next step was planting.

Unfortunately, he was just too young. Willing, but incapable.

Unless there was a suitable Pokemon to help.

And with his current situation, catching Pokemon wasn’t an option.

He sighed. Fine, he’d leave it for now and come back to it when he was older.

Back in the living room, he wandered outside and sat on a large rock, gazing into the distance.

After only a few days apart, he already missed Entei.

“Ho-Oh, when is Entei coming back?” he asked.

“When it finishes guiding the chosen one, it will return to Mount Tensei.”

“And how long does that usually take?” he muttered, bored.

Ho-Oh considered it carefully. “If the chosen one passes the trial, Entei will protect him and bring him to Mount Tensei.”

“If the chosen one fails, the Rainbow Wing I granted will lose its light. At that point, Entei and the others will abandon the guidance and return here directly.”

Just like the movie plot, Fuyuki thought. That meant it would take a long, long time.

He sighed again.

With a troubled look on his face, blue sky above and the vast Mount Tensei below, he sat on the rock, legs swinging idly, missing Entei more than ever.
