How to keep your shiny treasures!

The best feeling after a photoshoot is definitely to get out of the outfit and throw yourself in the shower, but what about the clothes you just wore?

Leave them laying on the ground? Hang them into the closet? Washing machine?

Well, if you don't want to keep your treasures for long and you don't care about how they look... yes. If you want to know how we care for and store our garments, keep reading! (⁀ᗢ⁀)

First of all: cleaning. Probably the most important part in our opinion. Storing the delicate and brittle material with all the dust, fat residue and microbiotics that built up during the wear can easily lead to rancid and moldy surprises, not less often to the garment becoming unusable and a literal risk for your health!

Use lukewarm water to remove the coarse dirt that might've stuck to the surface before you thoroughly clean it with a suitable cleaner solution and hot water to remove fat residue and bacteria. After rinsing the garment under cold clear water (either with or without shiner added) you can hang it up to dry or shake shake shake it off (((o(°▽°)o))) Make sure that there is no moisture left (in- and outside surface, glue seams, pockets etc. often hide little droplets)!

(The following step is not needed if you already used shiner after washing)

As soon as it is completely dry, you can prepare it for storage by spreading a good amount of shining spray/ liquid dressing aid or talcum powder all over the garment to protect it from rotting.

Once you're done with all of this you just need a plastic bag (preferably with a Ziploc; press out as much air as possible to save room) and a dark place with a consistent temperature, that's all ( ´ ▽ ` )

Of course there are other ways to care for your pieces, this is just how we like to do it! There are a few factors that can influence which methods could be better than others like the use of accessories made of different materials, chlorinated surfaces, certain patterns or add-ons that could make the drying process more difficult and so on; if you're in doubt it's always a good idea to simply ask the maker if they can give you advice (⌒‿⌒)
