Masked Gaga = Current Gaga Woman on top of the car at the beginning = Stefani Flannel Gaga = Joanne-era Gaga Gaga birthed through vomit = Chromatica Gaga My theory regarding the music video for Disease: Lady Gaga, (the masked version in the car), looking through different eras of herself, starting with Stefani, (the version on top of the car). Throughout her career, she carries a negative view of herself or even rage towards herself, which is why we see the different versions abusing, fighting, and attempting to kill each other. Towards the end, she vomits out Chromatica Gaga, (a subtle nod to her inclusion of simulated vomit in various videos as well as the controversial Swine performance you reacted to a few years back). Lady Gaga embraces her, sort of saying that she accepts all of these versions as a part of her, rather than viewing them as separate pieces. But Chromatica Gaga is scared of who she has become as a result of everything that has happened to her, and runs away, dancing before she dies after being trapped by houses. Now that all of the other Gagas have been acknowledged, absorbed, or died(?), Lady Gaga walks off in a confident stride, signaling that she's ready to show the world who she's become, (aka releasing a new album/embarking on a rumored new tour in 2025). It is also important to keep in mind that Gaga wrote this song with Michael Polansky, her fiance. Lyrically, the cure for her sickness seems to be love but it is also in part crying to herself for help and possibly him responding that he wants to heal her scars, depending on which lyrics he wrote. With that in mind, the end of the video is even more interesting. Remember how Chromatica Gaga dies trapped between houses? On one hand, it could be interpreted as a visual metaphor for COVID, because Chromatica was released during COVID and her big plans for that album were scrapped as a result. The other way I interpreted it was that sometime before she became engaged, Gaga probably once feared her own dream of becoming a wife/building a family, which is why that version of her is trapped between houses as she dances, thinking she'll have to kill off the part of her who's a pop star in order to make it happen. However, the masked Gaga who walks off feels strong enough to do all of it: Become a wife, be a pop star, be a Hollywood actress, be a jazz musician, and whatever else she decides. Finally, (and this is my most speculative point), I think the video focuses on the negativity she has towards herself spawned from traumas, most notably the events that led her to make the songs Swine and 911. 911 has the lyric, "My biggest enemy is me," which is brought to life in the Disease video. I think Swine is related to it throughout the entire Disease video because of the rage she carries towards herself, which is common in survivors of what she experienced. Hopefully I made sense lol. She also included references to various horror movies throughout the video, which hints that her new album will not only be a return to her dark-pop roots, but also influenced by horror.

FKA's made a lot of amazing almost short films for her music videos! I really loved Sad Day if you haven't seen it AJay! This new album is looking and sounding amazing so far. I also much prefer Jade's Fantasy on its own without the music video haha. The outro's amazing when you're not confused by the video 😂! I think it's meant to be a homage to the movie Carrie, but I didn't really get it otherwise. Midnight Cowboy got a lyric video that's basically a music video of her dancing in a water fountain.
