But and it is a big but within all that I found one of my favorites tracks of this year and that is “WONDER”, Katy you need to do more music like this and with that message and inspire us more and more I feel songs like that elevates her artistry and songwriter qualities even more. She killed it with wonder amazing and it made me cry lol perfect ending

It feels totally pressured and shows a huge lack of personality and decent lyricism. Personally, I think that the second half of the album is better (ALL THE LOVE and WONDER (which has a bridge, hooray!) are actually pretty good), but this doesn't save the album as a whole! I'd probably give it a 3/10!

I believe that the album was lacking personality and soul, especially in the first half, and some decent lyrics and bridges! Also, I felt that there was a lot of potential wasted on tracks like LIFETIMES (where I wish that there was a more interesting production and diversity in the lyricism) or NIRVANA (which has a great pre-chorus with an amazing build-up but then completely falls flat). But the great thing is: Everybody has a different music taste and enjoys other genres of music! :)

Also, 1989, Future Nostalgia, Confessions On A Dance Floor, Reinassance, Chromatica, and many others. 143 is not fun it tries to be that kinda of record but it lacks personality for it. And pushing the criticism aside, these are not Dr.Luke best productions. Or the best Katy Perry and Dr. Luke collab together they did stuff way more interesting than 143.

There has been so many times that you have criticized artists for having bland productions and questionable lyrics. This album has plenty of both. To each their own i suppose, but it just feels like you like Katy Perry a lot that you are willing to ignore how questionable this album is. However, i appreciate your honest opinion, and maybe over time, both of our opinion's will change. I don't like the album, and i think that if the goal of this album was to recreate the "Teenage Dream" era of hers, it doesn't succeed. I know Katy Perry has never been a lyrical genius, but at least with Smile, it felt like she was maturing lyrically, and was actually putting some soul into her music. I think the best word to describe this is "lifeless". That's my opinion, but i appreciate your opinion as well.

If you’re gonna work with him I would expect an amazing top tier album, and his best work. Otherwise is it worth it to isolate people and rub people the wrong way, when you personally do not know if he did or didn’t do what he was accused of? Just gives people a lot to ASSUME which doesn’t seem worth it or even necessary. You’re katy perry you can work with anyone, you have everything at your disposal. Im sure there’s more to it we will never understand. Some cute songs. Looking forward to the next album.

Doja Cat is stuck in a contract with Dr. Luke and has even shown dissatisfaction several times, because she has to put his name in the credits of songs that he didn't even produce. And Kim Petras recently said that even though she was treated well by Dr. Luke and had a good experience with him, what the various women claim about him is not invalid. Because she can't use the good experience she has with him to minimize the treatment other women have had with him. Which is more than Katy could ever do.

Reinassance is dance album but still holds soul too it and Beyonce really studied the importance of dance music for black people and the LGBTQIA+ community. Chromatica is a dance album but still holds depth and vulnerability in its lyrics. 143 don't say nothing on the sound, on the lyrics, on Katy's goals with the record and above it all it's produced by a r4p***t producer by Katy's own choices. And putting that aside, it don't beat the grandiose and rich sound productions of Teenage Dream and Prism.

Not to mention, this sound doesn't fit Katy. Her past albums have been pop while this is club/dance. The features are good but don't really help, repetitive in a bad way, poor choice of singles, I could go on. Really disappointed because every album before this has been a hit for me.

She also said she’s working on her 7th album as well. She wanted to release 143 quickly to get it out there for her fans and started working on her 7th album immediately after she finished 143. The 7th album is completely different than 143 as it’s more stripped down. I’m a Katy Perry fan and have been since the beginning. With that being said, 143 is not my favorite KP album. There are some great bops on this album however, I think 143 is just an okay album. I wasn’t really expecting it to be amazing or anything because of what she’s said about it being a fun, surface level, dance album. I’m way more excited for her 7th album as I feel like that will be the true KP follow up album!
