Yeah, this is just laughably jaw-dropping absurd! Years ago while in the USAF and stationed in Turkey, I encountered Americans who soaked all their raw veggies over night in bowls of water with 10 drops of bleach added in an effort to kill bacteria and avoid getting what we all jokingly called "The Turkish Trots" (aka traveler's diarrhea), and the funny part was that sooner or later they'd still get diarrhea anyway despite their precautions because we were all eating food in a foreign country where our immune systems had never made acquaintance with this Turkish bacteria. However, once we caught the bug and shat liquid for about 4-6 weeks, we'd get better and never get the Trots again. I was already familiar with this concept after having been assigned in Central America and getting a hearty case of Montezuma's Revenge. So when I arrived in Turkey I ate the food, drank the water... and after a few weeks of some vicious squirts and strengthening my immune system, I never worried about catching the "Trots" ever again and enjoyed my remaining time in Turkey sampling their amazing exotic cuisine! As I watched this I was reminded of George Carlin. I'm guessing you're familiar with Carlin's 1999 HBO special "You Are All Diseased" where he covers "Fear of Germs." If you haven't seen it, it's a must watch. Carlin covers this topic in detail and it's both hilarious and spot on the money! Clearly, this topic needs revisited. Great video!
