2025-11-12 02:43:30 +0000 UTCI know some people think Stahli is being a "don'tgiveafuck" gay here, but I actually think what's happening is a common thing you see among masculine gay/bi men who have only recently begun to explore their sexuality and were assumed to be straight by society previously. There's this sort of whiplash where secretly they feel like they have lost a bit of the masculinity they were previously assumed to have, so attempt to reclaim it through this overt display of aloofness since it's considered Very Masculine to not give a fuck. It's a way of battling against an insecurity. It's very rare for someone with Stahli's past to suddenly be 100% comfortable in their own skin the instant they first come out--realistically there is backsliding from time to time and it can be very messy. I have a hard time buying that this show we're seeing right now comes from a place of true pride and confidence. This is something you don't see with the Binguses of the world, who were known to be gay from a very young age and have had a longer time to come to terms with who they are and don't have any pre-conceived notion that they were ever masculine or needed to be. They've always known they weren't fooling anyone, so don't try to fool anyone.
