Hello everyone!
It’s been almost a month since so many of you voted for the rework of the game, with the goal of making future development smoother and creating space for modding. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been testing a lot of different ideas, and now I’m excited to share with you the vision for Gameverse Adventures 2.0!
The version you’re currently playing was built with Ren’Py — a lightweight engine that was easy to get started with. I managed to push its limits quite a bit, making the game feel much larger and even giving it a 3D vibe. But as time went on, Ren’Py became more of a constraint than a tool for the future.
Since I already needed to rework the code, I thought: why not rebuild everything properly, from the ground up? After experimenting with new approaches, I found the perfect fit: Unity.
Unity is a far more powerful engine that opens up many new possibilities. It will provide the perfect foundation for the future of Gameverse Adventures. (And I already have experience with this software)
My first step is to recreate the current game in Unity. Along the way, I’ll be improving performance, reworking the interface, polishing some features here and there, and even adding a new character to guide you at the start of your adventure.
And that’s just the beginning! Thanks to this transition, we’ll be able to imagine true 3D interactions, free camera movement, deeper gameplay, better interactivity… maybe even confetti! 🎉
I’m really happy with how the first tests turned out, and while it’ll take some more time to bring version 2.0 to life, I’ll keep you updated with more dev logs as progress continues.
Thanks again for your support and stay tuned for the next update log :)
