I honestly don't dislike Arashi. She seems a little privileged, but that's it. Souta did make his own choice to give her the tickets. Honestly, can't knock the hustle, she's just well aware of what she wants. Souta is struggling and I feel for our boy, so I hope he gains some more confidence.

And I don't care what these people here who never even had a single conversation with me judge me for based on my feelings towards a single character in an arc they don't even know why moves me so much. And "there are male characters who have done worse" lol they missed how we wanted to kill Nao along for some of his behaviour, not to mention Souta when he gave her the tickets, and in many other situations. And we love them. CAUSE IT'S A FUCKING METAPHOR. Anyways, I genuinely don't care, I didn't even read the whole bible up there trying to prove I'm misogynistic. What people who don't know me think of me will truly never matter. What will matter is people saying shit to me AND others (cause no, this is not just about me, I know MANY people who are extremely intimidated of commenting here and expressing their most extreme feelings because they're being demonised). THAT will never be okay. You don't see me going to comments loving Arashi and saying "You just like her cause she's a girl, if she was a boy, nobody would care about us disliking her" or "You're stupid for not feeling the way I'm feeling" or "you are a really naive person irl for liking her" (these are all examples, I don't think any of those about anyone, except for the boy thing... just making a parallel). But when I express my rage even through metaphorical stuff people come say I'm this or that? Dude, with all due respect, your view on life and feelings and human beings is very limited. If you think there's one single person out there who doesn't have extreme emotions, you're utterly wrong. You go study any psychological approach and then come talk to me. What we express about what ART makes us feel is NOT what we would literally do OR how we would view things if they were happening around us and/or we were part of the story. If people wanna think it is, Pika, then just let them. It's useless to try and say "just let me feel what I feel and express myself in a place that was made for it when the author herself already said a thousand times she doesn't want to repress anyone to comment what the really feel", because they will just think, with their one-track mind, what they want. Just as Kari pointed out. If the character had been a guy, I promise you, you would not have seen as much hate. People would be more understanding and say, “Oh, well it’s not really his fault. He’s just a teenager who has a crush.” But that level of understanding doesn’t always extends to the girls in stories like these and it’s worse if she’s a flawed character.

However it does set a dangerous precedent for processing feelings in general. It is understandable that you might not like someone who is trying to get with your crush, and it is okay to have negative feelings. However, part of growing up is realizing that neither Souta nor Arashi are "in the wrong". Wishing death upon your "competition" is some middle school behavior. If the character experiencing hardship, a literal highschool student, can have maturity, then it leaves little excuses for unhinged people in the comments. You don't have to like her character, but harboring enough negative feelings to type a full comment about wishing death upon a highschool girl with a crush is wild. Feel your feelings, but normalizing that is off base. That being said, it's hard not see all the negativity towards towards Arashi as "girl hate". One aspect of misogyny is how much more critical we are of women. Of course everyone likes Inoue, because she her character is essentially perfect. She is kind, pretty, and inherently poses less of a threat to Souta. Arashi is flawed, but in the way any person is. She is a bit pushy and could potentially be viewed as a little selfish, but not to a degree that is unacceptable. When women are flawed, people are so quick to condemn them even for seemingly normal thoughts and feelings. For example, its not okay for Arashi to be a bit egocentric, yet it's okay to wish death upon her (fictional or not) because it's normal to rage with your friends. It's normal for teenagers to be a little egocentric and try to get with their crush. If readers aren't being masgonistic, then why don't they hate Nao for all of the mean things he has said? Because his mom died it's okay right? Truthfully, they are all kids who are trying their best to navigate and are deserving of understanding and patience, but it should be granted to everyone. Even the girl who tries to date the protagonist's crush. How you judge fictional characters still reflects how you view the real world, and holding women to a higher standard or moral conduct is misogynistic. So let's not normalize hating young girls for having crushes. 🫂

I am glad to see Souta spending time with those who unknowingly are providing him with shoulder to lean on. I still feel Inoue can become Souta's confidant; they seem to vibe pretty well. I love how Nao has his gaze fixed on Souta when no one seems to notice him, although he's probably making up a scenario about Souta and Inoue in his head. The same will probably happen when Souta realizes Arashi is the one standing with Nao. He'll probably see them have some sort of body contact (hug, hand grabbing/holding) and think the worst of it. I'm trying to prep myself for the next episode 🤕

She’s been rude to Souta and dismissive of him and was only nice when she wanted something from him. Even if she doesn’t mean to be rude, she is. And I get being blinded by a crush, but it doesn’t give you a free pass to treat your crush’s best friend like that. Or anyone for that matter. If you like her then great! You’re interpreting things differently than those of us who don’t like her which is totally fine! Not everyone is gonna view characters the same way. But that doesn’t mean that people with a different perspective are wrong just because you can’t fully understand why they might feel that way. And it’s okay to dislike a character in a comic you love. It doesn’t mean you like the comic any less. This is by far my favorite webcomic and I think it’s so incredibly well done but that doesn’t mean I have to like every single character.
