I was just reread everything btw and guys although Arashi seems like a good person in general but I can’t get over the fact of how she completely disregards Souta’s feelings EVERY single time! Like this girl’s social cues are sooo bad. 1) When she first meets Souta she talks about him being the clown and saying it was hilarious which in itself isn’t bad but just left it at that - already left a bad taste in my mouth but I digress and ignored it, But #2) When she crashes Nao’s and Souta’s little hangout she does not even address Souta at all, literally just says Hi to Nao and was like “let’s go somewhere” like girl did you not see them hanging out??? and then #3) While hanging out Nao’s trying to include Souta and admittedly Souta’s joke about joining the bad was cringe (Nao still smiled kyahhh) She literally was like “yea ok.. Anyways” and overlooked him completely. She hogged Nao practically the whole time without a care and didn’t even say bye when he left, like girl I get that’s not your friend but ummm common courtesy?? and last but not least #4) HER ACCEPTING THE TICKETS?? No one would I take someone’s hard earned gift for my own, even if they “won in a raffle” obviously you pay attention to his like enough to enter to raffle for his sake like that’s crazy behavior I would have like added on gift vouchers to the venue or someone for free food or drink or some soccer gear like it’s not hard honestly to find something else. EVEN at the very least say “I’ll let him know right away who they came from” or something along with the free food or bought them off of him idk anything then just taking his friend for granted atp to gain brownie points in Nao’s favor. Sorry but as much as Nao has been through it so has Souta been having things going on to and I’ve been wanting him to relax and just chill and have fun lately so my conclusion is because of her blatant lack of care of Souta, a dear friend of the guys she supposedly likes, I will no longer be giving her the benefit of the doubt. I rest my case.

This is going to be very subjective because I’m basing her poor manners from what my family taught me while growing up. So you may disagree and view it differently but doesn’t mean either of us are right or wrong. A) When she didn’t ask if she could hangout with them but just forced herself in. She may not have known they were hanging out but if I saw my friend with one of their friends I’d ask first if they were available. So her not knowing they were hanging out is not an excuse. Given the fact she was just hanging out with a friend herself. B) excluded Souta from conversation. Whether intentional or not it didn’t sit right with me. Now if I was in a group with folks (who were my friend’s friends) I didn’t know I would introduce myself and go from there, and try to have a conversation with them. C) her response to his joke and then brushing it off was off putting for my taste. Also Nao was put on my list for just about the same reasons and some specific to him. Now, one can be polite and nice and unknowingly do something rude in someone else’s POV. This is why I don’t like her, but by no means am I saying she’s hateful. Just different upbringings.

I think the poor manners most people are referring to is her lack of acknowledgement towards Souta I general, but especially when she barged in while they were hanging out. She didn’t ask if it was okay for her to join and she didn’t make in effort to get to know Souta better. And I know Nao should have been the one doing the most to introduce them better, but as the one who joined them after, I think she should have made an effort as well. In the end, I agree they’re all still teenagers and those things don’t make her a bad person, but she does act in a way which is a bit rude and can rub people the wrong way

Arashi DIDN'T KNOW Souta was planning to give them as a gift to Nao. It was never framed that way, it reads more like "yeah Nao likes this band so I was gonna go with him" not "I carefully planned a Christmas date to see my best friend's favorite band". And with Souta and Nao's outing, again, she DIDN'T KNOW they were having an outing specifically for them. To her, it just looked like two guy friends hanging out. Pretty innocent. And I don't think she did anything specific to be exclusionary to Souta. Maybe she wasn't very inclusionary, but she certainly didn't make any attempts to shut Souta out completely. And also, she's Nao's friend. Not Souta's. I wouldn't expect her to go out of her way to try to include someone she knows nothing about. On that note, Arashi has no idea about all the turmoil Nao and Souta recently endured in their friendship. She doesn't know anything about them! Not only that but Souta thinks that Nao being together with Arashi will make Nao happy. Souta is willing to sacrifice going to the concert because he prioritizes what he believes is the happiness of the guy he is in love with over his own desires. Also on some level I imagine Souta feels so hopeless that he probably hopes that giving up the tickets will be enough to shock himself into giving up his crush. He certainly wouldn't be the first queer person to do so because of their feelings for their 'straight' best friend.

also i feel everyone is being too harsh on poor souta. We’re the readers so we know that Nao is not straight but Souta doesn’t know. They were starting to get close again but then more and more people wanted to get near Nao. Souta also didn’t want to burden Nao with his feelings cause 1) Nao was in a bad place after his mother passed and 2) Souta is a guy. He’s having all these very complicated thoughts and feelings for the first time, then Arashi comes along. Unfortunately we live in a heteronormative world where a girl and guy being together is the norm. This quote from Souta summarizes what he’s feeling right now so well. “No matter how much time I spend with him, even if we sit at a cafe or go to the movies together… people will just see two friends hanging around one another. Meanwhile all it takes for a girl is to walk next to him to be seen as his significant other.” Keisuke was going to get mad at Souta but he realized he didn’t give the tickets because he was dumb. He gave them to her because in Souta’s mind, he isn’t worthy to be with Nao because he’s just a boy. Theres only enough mental toughness Souta can put out before finally breaking down. Oh Aina why do you hurt us like this :((

Oops accidentally deleted my reply. I definitely feel bad for Souta. He fell for Nao, but lives in a society that seems to look down on that. I absolutely hope they still go to the concert together, especially since Souta worked so hard to get those tickets. It breaks my heart that he thinks it'd be better for Nao to go with her rather than him.

Next prediction: for Christmas, Nao will give Souta those sneakers he lied about saving up for and Souta will give him something small because he spent all his money on the tickets and he’ll feel bad because Nao spent so much money on him, but he won’t tell him about the tickets. Arashi will give him the tickets and he will be like “wow, these are really expensive!” (Probably didn’t get her anything lol) and she will be like “well actually Souta gave them to me because he won them in a raffle” and because its Nao’s favourite band, he will know that’s not true and put two and two together to realise Souta bought them.
