Also, the way that he can still express his love for listener even in times like this or when he’s feeling lost or upset about things of the past or things that currently are bothering him. Or even when he thinks we deserve better or gets in his head even about things he’s done in the past. Makes my heart feel so full.

But I always love when even when he’s lost within his emotions or confused by them, he still opens up to listener and tries to let us into him on deep levels. He doesn’t even fully realize it either because of how messy it is with his emotions. But he’s such an open book with us, I adore that. I adore how much he wants to show us himself wholly. Even though he doesn’t feel whole. I just want to hug him. And as someone who also had a negative upbringing that also affected me mentally and emotionally. I get this on so many levels. I love him so much. And I enjoy when you do audios like this. It just feels so raw and so real.

I think you covered it all pretty well; realizing in the midst of a relationship that his upbringing was devoid of more than just happiness but left him a nearly blank slate of a person would have a huge impact on his psyche and the relationship, and working through that would absolutely be necessary, and makes the relationship feel more rooted in his canon characteristics. Reconciling his self-imposed guilt over his inadequacies with still being unable to let go of listener as an emotional security blanket while being perceptive enough to know that that's what's going on feels very true to him. The egg analogy was also great, sounds very much like something he'd learn in therapy. While listening to this, I remembered that in the series he used to write his mother letters. I think if you’re inclined to do more audios like this, something in that format would be cool to hear, like maybe he starts untangling his thoughts by telling listener about them in letters, even if he never means to send them and he's just reading them over in his head. Or maybe we find them in a desk drawer and he's like "go ahead, they're all to you anyway" My only criticism, since you specifically asked for feedback, is more in general and possibly a me-issue (autism brain, woo) and not specific to this audio: I would personally like more setting-based context clues, if that's something you think about when recording. Sometimes I can't tell where we are in a space (e.g. until something is said and I'm like "wait, were we standing this whole time?") But that could very well be my processing issues and I just missed something, or that you mean to keep it vague so we can imagine it however we want. Sorry for the word vomit, tl;dr I love character studies like this, please do more of them if you feel like it!

I struggle with the same things and I know how hard it is to use your logic and not what has been ingrained in you from childhood. This was a fantastic take on Shoto, CeCe!

It’s kind of like a comfort audio? but it’s not, just maybe cause I relate with the guy that relationships are a struggle. But this gives an insight on your portrayal and characterization of this guy. I like your mind lol

2026-03-11 23:22:15 +0000 UTCI enjoyed this one of Shoto here. He’s one of my favs and I like the way you did this one with him. I’m curious to hear more in the next part! For the more lengthy and detailed character exploration ones, I feel these are real nice way to get an insight and perspective for how you do them. It’s part of what had drawn me in initially with the YT audios (plus I still like to listen to certain ones over and over again 💕). Overall, I do enjoy how you get to take additional time to establish these characters in whatever situation they may be in, plus it’s nice to anticipate more of what’s to come in future parts with them 🩷
