2025-05-03 06:22:41 +0000 UTCListen - as an (unwilling) Gortash girlie (started out ironic, then became real), I can tell you what his draw is - he's a charismatic, horrible, evil little trash man with a very miss-able tragic backstory. I just love a raccoon of a man who's unrepentantly evil. Also, I don't think Gortash should count as a Tumblr Sexyman - he's already in a relationship with Dark Urge (I will die on this hill). That being said, I'm 100000% for Megamind as the next Tumblr Sexyman. I support anything that gives Megamind more love and attention (even though he also has a canon relationship with Roxanne Ritchi). If we're committed to the 'no relationship' aspect of the Tumblr Sexyman, then we gotta prop up Robbie Rotten. Not currently into the fandom, but Robbie Rotten is peak Tumblr Sexyman to me - very silly, not conventionally attractive, morally grey but in a fun way, and flamboyant (plus - tall, skinny, white guy).

The dance moves? Incredible. The theatricality? 10/10. The style??? The only problem is that he's too shipable with Stone which probably hurts his chances. And also it's live action but there's plenty of space to transpose live action and video game Eggman. I believe in Tumblr. I do possibly posit, Poseidon FromEpic. Depending on which animatic you watch, he's hot as hell and shapeshifts in cool ways which I count as "well dressed". Probably easy to mischaracterize, I mean it's Poseidon, he's got a lot of mythos that existed wayyy before epic. He's SO theatric I swear to god that man is petty as fuck and he's gonna be the most about it.

2025-01-12 04:21:18 +0000 UTCFor some reason I’m revisiting Lazytown out of nostalgia and I almost SCREAMED when you said including Sportacus and Robbie Rotten on this list would be too obvious because that’s SO true (To make things slightly heavy, the issue with making Robbie a tumblr sexyman is because of Stefan Karl’s battle with and passing away from cancer. Shipping yourself or making NSFW content with a character that is just a real man with some facial prosthetics just felt too real and uncomfortable, especially after he passed away. I think there was some issues back in the 2017/18 fandom heyday where people tried to sexualise Stefan while one of his kids was actively on Tumblr and it was a bit of an awkward moment. I don’t know if there’ll be a fandom resurgence any time soon, but even now there’s a (valid) feeling of reverence towards Stefan’s memory so idk if the conditions would ever return to where Robbie could become viable as a tumblr sexyman again. Rest in peace, Stefan, you truly are number 1

Buggy the Clown: One Piece Live Action did its due diligence making him so very tumblr bait in season one but I think he gets so much more tumblr sexyman in the later arcs of the manga/anime. And so we deserve manga Buggy as a tumblr sexyman. Sadly he does lose points for his very apparent lost love tension with Shanks. 2. Elias Bouchard/Jonah Magnus: Evil man wearing fancy suit who is sooooooo easily mischaracterized. This man is peak theatrics and I think tumblr would eat him up. 3. The Creature from Frankenstein: Talk about constantly mischaracterized. This man is ALWAYS misunderstood. He hits those inhuman but beautiful, I can fix him, and can be put anywhere. Granted he is not necessarily evil (a conversation very much in line with his mischaracterizing). The classics side of the internet already knows The Creature is peak.

Anyways, I’m going to give myself a fun challenge and list some podcast characters I think deserve to be Tumblr sexy-men: Jon Sims - Magnus Archives (real front runner if not for canonical relationship) Doug Eiffel - Wolf 359 (probably not morally grey enough for this criteria BUT I love him a lot and think he deserves sad renaissance paintings) River - Starfall (has not appeared enough yet (I think, I need to catch up) but I can tell) Leif - Midnight Burger (maybe the strongest I have: morally grey, theatrical, has a couple of potential love interests but has not had the best of luck maintaining said relationships) Honorable mention: Dr. John Seward - Dracula (specifically the Re: Dracula podcast where he’s voiced by Jonathan Sims)

I think he's maybe too old for the standard sexyman, but, we did get to see young Silco this year, so I guess there's that, for the cowards. Astarion almost feels too mainstream to be specifically a Tumblr sexyman. Like, I'd prefer him to Gortash but I feel like if the character has published romantasy novels about them, they're not really a "tumblr" sexyman anymore.

Colonel Ives/Colqhoun from Ravenous (1999). yes, another Robert Carlyle character. does double duty as an evil gremlin and polished master manipulator. a wendigo who wants to take over the world with his cult of immortal gay cannibals. ans he's also a little silly about it (slight addendum, any fans of Rumpelstiltskin should watch Ravenous. the venn diagram is a circle). where are the modern fics where he's like a mob leader or a vampire or something? who is gonna fix him with their love or get eaten alive trying? Goob/Bowler Hat Guy from Meet The Robinsons: Self explanatory I think. Long, dramatic, goofy, looks and acts like Robbie Rotten's evil twin, has a sympathetic backstory. You could tenderly convince him that he's worthy of love OR you could bend him over a table and both would feel appropriate. Gunnar Maelstrom from Netflix's Carmen Sandiego: Long, evil, european, domineering, monotone, deranged, rich, sharply dressed. not particularly complex or interesting but I KNOW someone out there desires him carnally. There should be Wattpad fic about getting kidnapped by him. Kent Mansley from The Iron Giant: If Jerma985 was a ginger cop. You probably can't fix him but you can pretend if you want to. Boris Habit from Smile For Me: Traumatized gay villain who's like 8ft tall and has like 4 rows of teeth and sharp claws. Canonically he is (spoilers) redeemed by a single kiss and/or a gifted flower so yeah, you CAN fix him. But he might steal your teeth first. Maybe that risk is worth it. Swiper from Dora the Explorer
