Not as tragic, but he's enthusiastic and friends with Karlach and SO PRETTY, I don't even really want to romance him, he kinda has ace vibes, I just want to be able to look at him and see him be just kind and uncomplicated as often as possible. I think he'd be a sorcerer because he feels like the sort of guy who'd pull out a careful spell fireball at the perfect time and when everyone's like "HOW AND WHAT" he'd be like "oh, I mostly only cast that when my forge can't get hot enough, I didn't want to scare anyone but it seemed like you might want help."

2024-08-31 00:57:44 +0000 UTCPs: I mostly agree about the grocery cart ranking, UNLESS at any point he witnessed a different customer returning a cart and a tired employee jokingly saying "thanks, you're my hero," THEN he would never forget again and anyone within 60' of him anytime he's in a grocery store would hear that TRUE HEROES return their carts!

2024-08-30 23:31:33 +0000 UTCI could write an entire dissertation on the parallels between Orin and the dark urge, and how by trying to gain the favor she viewed her sibling as having within the family (by removing them from the equation), she actually set them free to make their own choices in a way that she herself will never be able to become. Shes so fundamentally tragic to me and I just think I should get to keep her around to be a little freak in the background while I save the world!

I understand that it would sort of negate the entire theme of inadequacy and failure in the eyes of her family who will never truly love her (which is all she really wants), but also I want to get her OUT of there!!!! Get her some oil paints and clay!!!! Stop trying to win the affection of your awful grand/dad and your even more awful murder god dad, Orin. Learn to kill for yourself for once...

2024-08-30 18:22:53 +0000 UTCOK so, I keep getting distracted and restarting late in the game so idk that much about this version of Minsc, but I'm very familiar with Minsc in 1 and 2 as well as the "fanon" around the character (lots of mods for 1 and 2 that add extra banter), and I feel like that version of Minsc could actually be a lot of fun as an origin character, but they would never actually write it, let me explain. The fanon Minsc I know isn't necessarily smarter or wise, but he is prone to random "well, Boo thinks [extremely wise and insightful advice], Minsc does not understand, but YOU, you are a smart one!" It's neat, and leads to fun fan speculation on whether Boo is actually a genius that only Minsc can understand, or whether Minsc is actually still wise (there's reason to believe in BG1 that his Minsc-ness is a recent change) and perceives his wisdom as coming from Boo. And I can't imagine Larian wanting to give a definitive answer for that because that would take the fun out of it, but if someone made a mod for playing as Minsc, I would play it!
