Thanks for the reactions. Interesting to hear your comments. I think the series is especially geared towards Americans as we are navigating through racial inequality that should have been addressed hundreds of years ago. The show attempted to highlight certain elements of what is is to be black in America today and the importance of empathy whenever dealing with human beings (we just got rid of a “president” who lacked that capability). I’m pretty certain this was all filmed before the Capitol riots. I actually heard there was originally a virus subplot (hence the Flag Smashers stealing vaccines and medicine early in the series) but COVID nixed that idea so they had to reconfigure some things. And the masks coming on and off are likely to help stunt people for certain scenes and to highlight the actors emoting in others.
