Halibel x Shirou TVOW and Arturia of course for F.I.T I think a harem would detract from the plot and possibly create juggling. In each story Shirou has a woman at his right hand he can depend on. That NEEDS to be his woman of choice that he's paired with. Sure plenty of women may pursue him and I'm ok with that in your stories. It makes it much more interesting when the result is uncertain and we see the main heroine put to the test. However, once you start to compare the relationships with the women who are deserving of him with the lesser competition, a harem just appears frivolous. Shirou is NOT a frivolous man. There is a Reason why Fate although seeming like a harem is not - different routes. I want only the best from YOU for Shirou lol

But this is far from always true, and in fact some of those i'd consider the greatest authors do harems and do them very well, usually by making sure that perspectives vary a lot. In fact I think I feel safe to say that the ones that do very good harem writing are usually just as good at writing multiple pov's into the story. As far as my opinion on pairings however, personally I'd like the author to ofc go with what he thinks feels the best with what they are writing. My request would simply to be that any romances aren't purely comedic in their value(aka they have an impact on the plot/characters, not something like randomly beating on each other and then for some reason this neither effected anything nor built up to anything at all, I'd point to basically Ranma 1/2 and similar comedy romance shows as examples)
