Fortnightly Update 87: Spooktober?

Hey everyone! In this update we've got a couple of fun WIPs to share, and a bunch of holiday snaps from my trip to Nevada!

Art Stuff

Yesterday I posted the rough sketch for the monthly art, which is going well! I'll hopefully have most of the frames lined this weekend, looking good for a 20th of October finish?

I've also been progressing on my collab with Volkenfox! The lines are done, pending their approval:

I've also been working on the personal foxy project - the first page of which is mostly coloured. I think I need to improve the backgrounds on the first couple of panels, but otherwise i'm very happy with how it's progressing:

But yeah, that's where art is right now! Three projects on the go - and when the monthly art is done, i'm thinking about opening commissions again :)

Life Stuff

On monday I flew back from America after another short holiday in Nevada to spend time with my boyfriend. It was a lovely time and we spent probably too much of it chilling out on the sofa (sorry, 'couch') eating good takeaway and drawing. 

But we also visited the Capitol building in Carson City - I had no idea that you're allowed to wander round inside. We sat in the Supreme Court, there's a cool museum in there, and we stood in this big conference hall:

Carson seems like a nice place, and on the way back we drove through Virginia City - an old mining town in the hills that refused to die - which had stunning views and unnerving quantities of Trump 2024 and Blue Lives Matter flags hung from shopfronts on the Highstreet. Below is the view off the side of the main street, and my photo really doesn't do justice to how much endless desert you can see...

Speaking of all the food we ate, here's a few of my favourite eats from the trip. A "Mini Volcano" from Black Bear Diner, a Chipwich (which i'm really hoping we can get in the UK) and a Chicago style deep dish from Taste of Chicago - their smallest size and we could only manage two slices each!:

So i'm back in the UK now, noticeably chubbier than when I left and missing the ability to cuddle someone on demand. That aside, i'm excited by all the art projects i've got on the go right now! I'm a little bummed that i've not been channelling spooktober as much as I could be right now (my new profile picture animation was meant to be spooky but just ended up being wholesome) but we'll get there.
