[KNB] Chapter : 11

“I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

For a power-generation website to come up with something this creative, it’s hard not to draw attention across fandoms.

A live broadcast first—then only after it's over, the standard version becomes available for replay? That’s completely unheard of.

Even for someone like Pan, who has endured countless cringe-worthy episodes and built up years of toxicity resistance, this made him blurt out:

"Yo… this is kinda sassy!”

He leaned closer to the stream, amused.

“Alright then, let’s take a look at this Kuroko’s Basketball: Generation of Miracles Prequel—man, what a mouthful. It better live up to that title.”

He paused, scrolling.

“Looks like I totally missed this during the seasonal preview. Don’t remember seeing it at all.”

The story opens with a familiar name—Kuroko.

‘Hey, it’s Ranma’s long-lost cousin!’
‘Still rocking the “three-no” style—no presence, no energy, no screen time!’
‘Bro above me, I can smell you through the toilet!’
‘This is the protagonist? For real?’
‘Basketball fan? With that height? Nah, bro.’
‘Is this the classic underdog-to-national-champ arc again?’

The barrage flew past faster than Pan could read.

Kuroko’s appearance didn’t cause much of a stir.
To most viewers, this was nothing new.
They’d seen too many anime to be easily impressed—those wide-eyed teenage years were long behind them.

Now, with just a few scenes, they could sniff out the plot from a mile away.

Sure enough, the story dove into Kuroko’s backstory—how he fell in love with basketball.

“Yeah… no surprises here,” Pan muttered.
“It’s not bad, per se, but I’ve seen this plot a dozen times.”

He yawned slightly.

“So let me guess—hard work, overcoming odds, then leads the team to national victory?”

And then, the story slapped him in the face.

Hard.

As Kuroko stepped into Teikō Middle School, strolling through a crowd of students, something strange happened.

Nobody looked at him.

Nobody noticed him.

It was like he didn’t exist.

Even when he approached the basketball club seniors standing nearby to recruit new members, they didn’t so much as flinch.

They didn’t see him.

Pan squinted at the screen, suddenly alert.

“Wait. What is this? Is he a ghost? Bro, this is kinda… cracked.”

The narrator chimed in—Kuroko’s “abnormally low presence” wasn’t just a joke.

It was real.

Since birth, even his closest friends struggled to notice him.
Only his parents seemed immune.

Pan leaned back in his chair, gasping dramatically like Bucciarati from JoJo Part 5.

“That’s not normal!”

He clapped his hands to get the chat’s attention.

“Brothers, trust me. This ain’t your average sports anime. This ain’t no Slam Dunk clone with passion, sweat, and power-of-friendship rallies.”

‘No kidding! Who the hell has a presence that low IRL?!’
‘What is this, ninja basketball?!’
‘Yo imagine him dribbling coast to coast and nobody notices lmao’
‘Would the ref even count the points if he’s invisible?!’
‘Bro said stealth dunk!! 💀💀💀’
‘I hate how hard I’m laughing right now.’

Pan tried to keep a straight face, but the mental image crept in anyway.

Kuroko, dribbling casually down the court…
Defenders parting like the Red Sea…
He gently lays it in, looks around…
And the referee shrugs—didn’t see anything. No points.

Pan buried his face in his hands.

“If that happens, I’m giving this anime a full 10/10.
It’d be so stupid… it’d actually be genius!

“But seriously, what production team would dare to pull something this absurd?”

And yet…

Underneath the comedy, something started to stir in Pan’s mind.

This was different.

Kuroko’s unique role—his ghost-like presence—was weirdly compelling.
Enough to hook viewers.
Even him.

“Character design…” he whispered.
“That’s it! That’s the angle! The character concept is the hook!”

Then, before the thought could fade, the scene changed.

It was time for club tryouts.

Kuroko entered the Teikō Basketball Club for the first time.

The screen filled with students—elite players who regularly competed on the national stage. A basketball powerhouse.

The crowd size surprised the audience, but not entirely.
Teikō had a reputation, after all.

Then…

The camera panned.

A new character stepped onto the court.

Han Suichi.

And with that entrance, everything began to change.

From the audience’s point of view, Han strolled into the gym and casually glanced around—completely unaware that he’d just stopped directly in front of Kuroko, blocking him from view.

Kuroko pressed his lips into a line before politely speaking up,

“Um, excuse me… could you please move?”

Han blinked.

“Move from what?”

He turned around—only to find a completely expressionless boy standing behind him, face devoid of presence.

Jingyan jumped back like he’d seen a ghost.

“Holy crap! You scared the hell out of me! How long have you been standing there?!”

Kuroko blinked.

“I’ve been here the whole time. You just didn’t notice.”

“You were here first?!”

Still visibly shaken, Han stared into the camera, muttering under his breath with exaggerated disbelief.

“Is this some kind of comic book setting? I mean, I’ve heard of people with zero presence, but this guy’s on another level. Are we sure he’s not from Marvel?”

BURST—

Pan Pigeon, watching the live stream, choked on laughter.

And just like that, the chat exploded:

“LMFAO what a line!”
“That had to be scripted!”
“Bro said Marvel, I’m DONE 💀”
“You’re the real MVP, Han!”
“Comedic timing 10/10.”

Amid the chaos, people finally took notice of Han himself.

From a design standpoint, he was the kind of character that instantly drew attention in the anime world.

White hair—instant bonus points.

Slender build. Cool sunglasses. Exuding confidence with every movement.

You couldn’t see his eyes at first, but he had that aura.
That sense of: "Yeah, this one's going to matter."

And then—he slowly lowered his sunglasses to the bridge of his nose, revealing piercing blue eyes as he stared straight at Kuroko.

That one glance sent half the chat into cardiac arrest.

“WAHHH so handsome!!”
“Blue eyes + white hair = TAKE MY HEART 💘”
“My ovaries just exploded!”
“That’s it. Husband material. No debate.”
“Bro got me questioning my own looks.”

One thing about Kuroko no Basket—just like Prince of Tennis—is that everyone’s hot. It’s practically in the DNA of the series.

And judging by the reaction barrage, viewers were already sensing it:

This anime has fire potential.

Whether or not it would blow up, though, would depend on how the story unfolded.

What’s often overlooked in early episodes is the importance of character design—not just visually, but in how they’re written and introduced.

And so far, Generation of Miracles was two for two.

Kuroko had an unforgettable quirk—near-invisibility.

Han? Instantly magnetic. Witty. Charismatic. And just a little unhinged.

A perfect foil.

And then came their introductions:

“Hello,” Kuroko said quietly. “I’m Tetsuya Kuroko, first-year. Please take care of me.”

“Han Suichi,” the white-haired boy replied coolly. “Looking forward to it.”
