TRIGUN Episode 17 & 18 Reaction UNCUT!

Comments

Reminder if we're checking out classics 'Outlaw Star' is something worth looking at, it's a great mix of a a Space Opera with a hint of Western. Decent Dub too since that appears to be your style. Most of the characters sound pretty good, Except Aisha she has a voice that makes nails on a chalkboard sound appealing. Everyone else though is pretty good. Least as good as a dub from the 90's can be.

Thank you, it wasn't any kind of experiment, it was just the price he paid for being a hero. That was addressed when they first revealed the scars in the clipshow episode.

You're asking a ton of great questions and they'll all be answered! There is so much stuff I'd love to expand on but I don't want to spoil anything and I am LOVING your theories. The Legato/Knives being the same person one is an interesting one, but for the sake of avoiding confusion, yes they are different people haha. Legato - blue hair, big white coat / Knives - Vash but with much shorter and slightly lighter hair. And YES PLEASE react to Stampede next! It is a REBOOT. The original '98 anime is closer in tone to the manga, and a lot of things are done 1:1 almost exactly the same, although the pacing in the manga is a lot faster, and the order of events is slightly different. They had to add a lot of filler because the manga wasn't finished, and because of that it doesn't go quite as in depth into some stuff and obviously it diverges and had to come up with its own ending. Stampede on the other hand, as I said, is a reboot. While it incorporates a lot more from the manga that had to be left out of the original show, it does things VERY differently and the timeline is completely rearranged, while still telling the same story. I'm SO GLAD you watched the original first because there is very little mystery in Stampede. All of the questions you've been asking are answered VERY early on. Some people have complained about that saying it feels rushed and that it made them appreciate the filler in the original. (The manga is somewhere in between...not as drawn out as the anime, but not laid out as quickly as it is in Stampede.) The tone of Stampede is much more serious, and it emphasizes the futuristic sci-fi/inhuman aspects much more than the western vibes. The main focus seems to be on the relationship between Vash and Knives, which is fantastic because that's something that was seriously lacking in the original show. Overall it's really well done and a completely different take on the story, so it's definitely worth watching, especially if you're not planning to read the manga too. Edit: Also, Stampede is only 12 episodes long so it's not a huge commitment. There is going to be a second season, Stargaze, but it doesn't come out until next year.

Talking about the other ship wolfwood and vash discover in an earlier episode. You guys said it seemed to be some sort of nursery ship buried under the sand and I think you guys were probably right about that. I don’t think it’s an alien ship but part of project seeds crash 100 years ago

Episode 17 is SUCH a game-changer for the series. It really makes you think about Vash and Knives' upbringing and how they came to different conclusions about humanity and life. One thing I love about how the '98 anime did it is drilling home the point that Vash is driven by emotion and empathy, while Knives is driven by logic. His thinking is: You can't save the spider (humans) AND the butterfly (plants). The spider feeds off the butterfly to live, so even if you prevent the spider from eating the butterfly, it will still die of starvation, so why not put it out of its misery? Knives knowing that humans destroyed their entire PLANET by sucking it dry of resources and seeing how awful Steve was is a pretty good motivation for him to hate humans. One thing they don't really touch on enough is how he also hates them for using plants as resources. In the manga and Stampede, that's one of his primary reasons. I don't want to get into spoiler territory in case you plan to watch the reboot as well, and/or read the manga, but they dive much deeper into that motivation and Knives' motivations are much more personal.

Mehgan while the credits are almost rolling with the last second theory. That’s like 75% accurate. How does she always do it?

Legato is obviously not knives. As for why legato has powers, I'll wait for a certain reveal. also yeah, vashs scars are just that. From 107 years of protecting humanity against themselves. The cost of not killing and being a pacifist is all those scars on his body, countless injuries that will never go away. Dont forget also how knives shot vashs arm off in the flashback. Him getting a replacement makes sense.

MrInuhanyou123 .

Who says Knives can’t give others powers or turn them into something other than human? He was able to influence the people on the ship pretty easily and that was when he was a child.

Metastatic Malady

Just clearing it up. Though thier clothes look similiar, Knives and Legato are 2 distinct people.
