General Update - June 2023

Hi all of my precious supporters! Just dropping an update on what's up and what's to come. A bit of a lengthy one, and nothing urgent, but I would appreciate you taking the time to read it.

SITUATION

Sadly, the economic situation in the region has raised living expenses (mortgage interest rates, electricity, gas, etc), and I've also been losing supporters lately, probably due to the exact same reasons, overall resulting in my financial stability suffering, as I've been barely breaking even with my expenses for a while now. Times are tough. Add on to that some unexpected other mandatory expenses and I'm in a bit of a tough spot. I've been pretty stressed out about the future lately.

SHORT TERM FIX

This month's Gumroad sales are going to be crucial. At every half-year point I publish a bundle of all the content from the period (so the latest one is out now), and that usually results in some increased sales, as some people prefer to collect those, but the amount of extra sales can vary wildly, usually 2-4x the usual monthly sales. I'd need at least 3x sales to feel secure for the second half of the year. 

LONGER TERM SOLUTION

If the sales won't be that great, which is fairly likely given the economic situation, I may need to resort to increasing the quantity of commission work I do each month from two to three for the time being. If you've enjoyed all the art I've been doing lately, then this shouldn't be a huge change, but occasionally there might be works that I'm fine doing, but which may not be the type I usually do as personal projects. I would prioritize butt-focused projects for the extra third commission each month though, whenever possible.

Any of you who are not financially impacted by current world events, I'd also be immensely grateful if you could upgrade your membership to a higher tier, even if just for a month or two. Every bit helps to keep the dream (my art, basically) alive.

OTHER PLANS

Despite possibly needing to increase the ratio of commissions, I'm still going to have some personal project(s) going on the side as well. The next serial project will likely be a comic. I actually have three different ideas in mind, all featuring original characters, and varying in length, but aside from plot, they're all primarily the same kind of usual Harmonist11 style butt fun. I'll likely wait until next month to decide which one to go for, depending on the commission schedule.

Also, as I mentioned, I've been stressed out, and it's summer, and I need some time off too, and will likely take a day off here and there this month, and possibly next month as well. The goal is to do four artworks this month, and any leftover time will be R&R.

Overall, the only solid wish I have is that no one drops their pledge as a knee-jerk reaction to the potentially increased quantity of commissions, or the slightly lesser quantity of art this month. These might just be temporary changes, and your support is needed for that to be the case. But please don't feel obligated to keep your membership if you're financially in a tough spot as well. Take care of yourself first, and then, if possible, maybe help artists like me keep doing their art. ^^
