Animation Progress Update!

Good morning, everyone!

TL;DR below!

It feels SO GOOD to finally get back into animating!! It's all I've been doing over the past 3-4 days. Our poor Lara Croft/Tomb Raider project has been gathering dust for months! 

I've been wanting to do this for so long, but I've been hesitant to switch over due to fears of not having enough content to share with you all. However, these past few weeks have seen daily content posts, and my soul is yearning for another sexy breast expansion AND growth animation. So here it comes! :3

Now, let's discuss progress.

Prior to coming back to this project, I had completed the environment, volumetrics, and lighting for both a hallway and office space(as seen below):

Since coming back, I needed to optimize my scene because, even with a juicy computer setup, it was in a usable state(for those that know, it was consuming nearly 30 GB of VRAM) that prevented rendering entirely. I've since fixed that problem entirely - which required tearing down the entire project from the ground up. Long story short, it was worth it.

Next, I asked for some assistance from a dear friend for motion capture data. Lara Croft is an absolute badass and deserves to be moving like one. I've had to learn this workflow from scratch, and it's been extremely challenging but also rewarding. Because of these efforts, all of the hallway posing is already complete! I hope to only improve moving forward.

Lastly - the boobies! There's always a major concern in the back of my mind: What if I animate this entire scene only to find out that there's some technical hurdle that kills the project? To avoid that nightmare, I wanted to test all of the squishy boobie goodness and clothing simulations BEFORE animating more. Without going into too much detail, it too was very tough. I'm not using the same figure as last time(Mercy) - Lara Croft's 3D asset is MUCH more complicated in every way, so figuring out how to be consistent with my work was of vital importance. All technical hurdles were verified to work. Yay!

A few 3D artist patrons have asked for them, so I've attached a few scrappy animation previews of the soft body physics. Fair warning, they're not pretty, but might be helpful for those interested in doing this yourself one day! :)

What still remains to be done?

A lot. I cannot over-emphasize this. This animation is by far my most ambitious project to date, and it has plenty of complexities and nuances that I have never touched before. To be specific, I still need to design, texture, and rig several more props, and animate the remaining 80% of the project. Afterward, I need a few days to render each frame of the animation, postwork it, and of course add audio to it. I will, of course, provide more previews as I get closer to the project's completion. I don't have an estimated completion date.

This animation will be EXTREMELY SEXY, and hopefully, be the foundation of a new standard for breast expansion and growth content.

What about other content?

Other content is still on its way and will be posted very soon! However, you can expect my daily content posts to temporarily slow down as the animation draws closer to a release date. I would greatly appreciate everyone's patience during that time. It would mean the world to me.

I will always continue to strive to create the best, sexiest content there is for our little neck of the woods! ;)

best of luck to ya. I know how much of a B*** Maya can be sometimes. The damn thing is buggier than Bethesda games. Been using Maya for 5 years and it's a love-hate relationship
