Quinns' Campaign Diaries, Vol 1 Pt 1

oh hell yeah this is super cool

Somehow this is the first I've heard that this supplement exists! I'm extremely interested, and also the very direct Mad Men reference on the cover has fully charmed me.

I really like the le Carré image of Britain post war, of a broken, slightly shabby nation coming to terms with being a smaller country. Sure we had the Beatles, but the best selling album? The Sound of Music. It depends whether you want to tap into that slightly faded, beige vision, or tap into the exciting myth of the swinging 60s.

Quinns, you may have left me for the gendarmes in Paris after the last job went to shit, and you may be a huge meanie... but I'm in!! *Jazz crescendo* 🎺🎷🎹🎵

My dad hit early adulthood in Liverpool in the sixties and one thing that he sometimes mentioned was the prevalence of Teddy Boys in the earlier years. Simultaneously you had the "white heat of technology' futurism of the time, and a group consciously adopting and modifying the attire of a previous age. The Teddys did form gangs, so might be an interesting faction to play with, maybe as a working-class reboot of Old Doskvol high society style? A particularly grisly detail was they would sew razor blades into the reverse of their jacket lapels, so if someone grabbed them they let go pretty sharpish.

Doskvol version of war between Mods and Rockers.

I was just thinking about that while reading the post: doing some Tarantino-esque work to find forgetted musical gems from the 60s to play anytime the players find themselves in a public space would set the moodjust right. As a silly addition, If you can manage to get a set of lava lamp for the lighting, that would be pretty dope!

Hey Quinns, I’m curious if you were planning on running DCC using the Lankhmar supplement. It’s got some great mechanical changes like fleeting luck and also downplays some of the more gonzo elements in favor of gritty urban adventures which seems up your alley. Also, the module Acting Up in Lankhmar is probably my favorite Goodman Games module

I have a 1967 themed scenario I break out for Cons (tailored to run about 3 hours, so perfect). It's based very much around a song released that year. So as far as 60s tips go - look at what was popular musically in 1968 as it can be a great hopping off point for general colour, but also for sneaky ideas for things getting in the PCs' way!

Ooh I'm here for stationary tips if YOU have any

Quinns Quest

Loving this new tier, to the point that I have cancelled another patreon subscription to offset the increase with this subscription [I am getting a lot more out of this than the other] Completely unrelated to the campaign notes, personally I would love a short patreon video based around your new found love of stationary. As a stationary fan myself I live seeing what other people use and how they use it, and if it is based around the framework of GMing.... mind blown.
