Skyrealm-enjoyers! Today is our grand finale of the first season of Play to Find Out, the Actual Play show where we play "bad" (but are they bad?) TTRPGs from history.

The cache of images containing excerpts from the Jorune books has once again been updated for episode 4, so click here to enjoy that (providing you can see past Patreon's criminally poor hyperlink highlighting! What is going on with that?).

For this episode I've decided to include some pages from the adventure I was running, so you can see what I was working with. I'd very much encourage you to give it a read.

As always, if you're not sure how to get access to your personal Quinns Quest Patreon podcast RSS feed, you can find instructions here. Please don't share it outside of the Patreon. If you'd like to share the public feed among your friends, here are the links for Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocket Casts, Amazon Music and Castbox.

Thanks so much for listening, everybody. We'll be back next week with season 1 episode 5, our long round-table discussion talking about this game, its world, and why we all came away a little bit in love.

Werner Hertzog monster is the best

Aux.g

is it just me or the second half of the audio is muted?

Evthys _ Estraven

This episode is amazing

Jacob Haras

Lucky you 😅 It's been fixed now but please don't share!

Quinns

Hyperlink shenanigans indeed. I clicked the link to the images and was rewarded with “sneak peeks” of seasons 3 & 4 of PTFO instead

Jia Yaik

a rathian is the icon of Monster Hunter gdfsg

Strawberry

Werner Herzog voice for the ramian 😆

Thomas Cunningham

Why on earth did the line “even smaller” BRAKE ME 😭😭😭

frazninja

One Dren point for you! 😄

Marius Sieverding

Really cool. Quinn is an awesome DM, and the story had a wonderful and very dramatic end. I especially think that the players (and audience in my case) going in blind, was an awesome way to keep things interesting!

Alfie Murray-Scott

Honestly, this is the most enjoyable AP I've come across. What a good time.

Surprisingly moving there at the end. Thank you for a great adventure in a crazy world!

Laila Blake

It sounded like the issho Flip took 1 point of issho energy for every 3 points the defender had. If the Rammian was the defender for this disha, it would've taken Kenth 4 points, not all 36 of his remaining energy, right? I could've misheard, I certainly don't have the rules in front of me (hence my spelling!!), and I don't think it would've made a difference since Kenth failed the roll, but... 🤓

Todd Christiansen

Same 😭 something about that phrasing...

Todd Christiansen

Kenth becoming "even smaller" as they pass away absolutely broke my hearth, what do you mean I'm getting teary-eyed for a small angry man of Jorune?

Matteo Mangioni

What a beautiful epilogue that was!! I'm really impressed how well you managed to create such a nice ending out of what was a pretty sudden and tragic end lol. Really inspiring stuff as a DM myself.

David Mason

AHH, amazing!

Quinns

Can't wait to listen to this, I'll be waiting for episode 5 so i can have it all in one go :) By the way, after some search it turns out even the good ol' iTunes can take private RSS feed, I'd never have believed it!

Chips

You're so right! Lots of discussion about this on the Discord, too. Kenth was robbed.

Quinns

I'm pretty sure the Isho calculation is the wrong way around. For every three points the defender has, you need to spend one point, so he would've only needed to spend 4

Dragonback Lancer

Quinns forgot the voice for the Ramians but I had taken it for granted he was doing Werner Herzog on purpose from the outset.

Kevin

This was awesome. Pros for you guys to play the rules as written.

Michel Plokker

Bravo bravo! I really enjoyed this as both entertainment and a lovely exploration of a nigh on forgotten game. I am looking forward to the debrief and very excited to see what comes next!!

Daniel Atkinson

Such an amazing series. I love getting to listen to an actual play that really sounds like a home game. No other actual play makes me more excited to run my own game than this. Id love to hear from Quins about how he came across this system and why he chose it for the first season of PtFO :D

Mr. G

I was excited for the finale, but I think I'm *even more* excited for the follow-up Deep-Dive and Retrospective

BakaTyler

My man Keith missing that 20 on a 19 was max sad.

cosmitz

Genuinely yes

Daniel Atkinson

anyone else been walking around singing ‘jorune’ to the tune of dolly parton’s ‘jolene’?
