Hi friends,
I hope you'll enjoy these dreamy images which were taken in July by the amazing Langston Bowen, in Connecticut. When I saw the results, I commented that the flowers glowing in the dusk-light reminded me of stars in the sky, and this inspired Langston to write this sweet poem:
Tonight the land reflected the sky
Tracing the constellations through the grass through dusk
Amongst them was myself cradled by the dipper
Riding the chariot
Artemis' bow to hunt my prey and take down my enemies
Freed from my shackles and now in a new sea filled with stars
Andromeda is my name
I love that he did that! I've written down short lines and thoughts and feelings my whole adult life, but they somehow never seem to take a finished shape... and I've never been brave enough to share them with anyone. Perhaps I should make sense of them someday and share a few of them with you here. :)
I (accidentally) lied about the West Coast being my last major trip for the year and I've been busy planning a somewhat spontaneous (for me at least, who usually likes to plan things at least a couple of months in advance) trip to Texas for next month! It's tough trying to pull it together with so little time, but, I always have a wonderful time creating there, and know some of the loveliest ever people there too, so I know it will all come together in the end.
I hope you're all doing well, wherever you are and whatever you're working on today. :) Thank you as always for your kindness and support.
