At that island they learn about the road poneglyphs and that there’s actually another island, Raftel, but you need those poneglyphs to get there. That’s why he said Roger had to go back and do it all over again because he needed to find the road poneglyphs. But with the strawhats, they are already finding out about this stuff before getting to that island. So they don’t have to start over like Roger did. Hope that helps make sense 😅
