2023-01-19 04:16:59 +0000 UTCOne theory as to why Sabo's memory returned after reading the article about Marineford despite having seen mentions of Ace beforehand. The theory is that his memory returned because the article showed him three names all together; Ace and Luffy are obviously the first two. However, the third name that ties them all together was actually Admiral Akainu. To be specific, rather than Akainu's government codename Akainu (Red Dog), it was his real name (Sakazuki) that triggered Sabo's memories. The reason for this is because Sakazuki is also the word that refers to the ceremony that Ace, Sabo and Luffy performed to become brothers. So Sabo's memory finally unlocked when he saw Ace, Luffy and Sakazuki (sake cups) all together in the same article and thus reminding him of what made them brothers in the first place. This has been your "Just Oda being Goda" moment of the episode.

While this position is technically outside of the Navy command hierarchy, there is one rank above Fleet Admiral that is part of the World Government command structure; the WG Commander-in-Chief. This position was revealed in the Post-Marineford arc when Sengoku went to Commander-in-Chief Kong, who was the Fleet Admiral before him, to resign from his position. So while he has technically advanced beyond the Navy command structure, he has complete authority over them and is second only to the Five Elders in authority and political powers.
