When Momo fainted from hunger on Punk Hazard, Luffy said "Get a grip/Pull yourself together!" which made Momo have a trauma attack and see Doflamingo's face. This was subtle foreshadowing to this episode where we see Momo's memory of Doflamingo cutting people and saying "Get a grip!"

If that's true it's hilarious and feels SO Oda. He just can't bring himself not to do things proper justice.

That was a missed opportunity to use the soundboard FOR THE D.

They use it for trademark purposes sometimes too lol, part of the reason Zoro is Zolo in the official translations

One thing that always amazes me is the endless casual foreshadowing throughout the series. Like how Doflamingo's ability to travel through the sky by imbuing haki on his strings, allowing him to grab clouds was foreshadowed early in Punk Hazard when Luffy bear-hugged Caesar despite the latter's ability to essentially turn into a cloud at will.

Man 10 years ago I remeber the pacing being sooo bad but true, I was watching week for week and reading the manga on the side and in the manga stuff just moves faster and in the anime they gotta be careful not to catch up so maybe thats the reason also, why I remember that arc being terrible with the pacing.
Just hold tight, the ride is gonna be wild

the best thing in this arc is that its keeps getting BETTER and BETTER, if you think what happened until now is crazy just wait

Hey Boom, I'm not a speaker of Japanese, So if a more knowledgable viewer can correct me, please do.
So Oda Loves making puns, and Brook is his pun vehicle of choice. I believe the pun Brook makes suji (for both aptitude and muscle) is basically a homophone, just like you'd find in English with say meat/meet. The Romanized spelling reflects the pronunciation "suji," while in written Japanese (Which is a complex subject that i definitely can't speak to) either hiragana/katakana or kanji, the two words are written differently. So the pun would be more obvious in the manga, in the anime it relies on context. Brook has a common joke format though where punchline is "but i don't have X" X referring to a body part he lacks, so it can be inferred that the homophone to suji (meaning aptitude) is a suji that refers to something brook wouldn't have (muscles).

If I remember right, the Tontatta stuff was originally supposed to be its own arc connected to but somewhat separated from Dressrosa like Punk Hazard was, but Oda combined it with Dressrosa to save time. Then he complained that he just ended up with an arc that was twice as long cus he didn't shorten anything.

I get what you are saying about the Tontatta, feels kinda weird even for OP and a little bit out of place in the beginning. But, I love them and I think they are really interesting. Just think about what Leo said „we can grow any plant“. Aren‘t Devil Fruits plants? Than they have a history that goes back over 900 years ago, where we know close to nothing about. Did they grow the first Devil Fruits about 900 years ago? Super (Franky‘s voice) interesting race.

I like how Oda still keep switching the L and R and the series. Like Loguetown; Roguetown and Corosseum; Colosseum
