Anyway re: Birdo, there used to be this sick metalcore band in the early 2000s called HORSE the band who were often called "nintendo-core" at the time because they had a keyboard player who'd play in this midi-tinged 8bit style, and some of the lyrics used video game or comic-based imagery as metaphor.
