Looking it up, it looks like it's the end of 226 where the canon stuff comes back in, not 227

Gotta agree as nowhere near as good as the rest of One Piece as it is, the canon stuff is still canon, it does have a few good moments, and this being Oda we have no idea if anything in it that we assume to be just pointless fluff will end up actually being the secret key to the answeres to everything. It's mostly the filler in the middle of the canon stuff that really drags it down, I'd be all for skipping that. As also noted, 220-225 is pure filler and should be skipped, then they do something very annoying, 226 is still filler, except for the very end which is a pretty important bit of getting back to the canon that leads into 227 which gets back to actual canon.

to nitpick Long-Ring-Long-Land or Davy Back Fight Arc is only to 219. After this is an Filler Arc (Ocean's Dream Arc) with Ep 220-228. That has the important tail. :)

It is just plain goofing around and Light-hearted fun. IMHO you can skip Long-Ring-Long-Land Arc/Davy Back Fight Arc. I'm not aware that any of this Arc matters. The next Arc (Ocean's Dream Arc, Ep 220-228) is also Filler and only the last few minutes of Ep 227 and full 228 are interesting as this is canon.

In one case I must contradict you. The filler content doesn't just add "more" things that happen it also destroys entire canon scenes because the animators needed to force it in.

If it only had issues with pacing I could accept the anime version. But at least there are some nice moments in it that were not ruined.

I felt like it really dragged, but just power through it. It's only a 15 episode arc. If you go the 3-ep-per-video route, it'll take 5 videos to get through. The tail end of the arc has important stuff that connects to the next arc, though.

Adding to my other comment on this post: You definitely can't just skip it, it's canon and important. It's pretty enjoyable for the most part. I even think you'd like it quite a bit. It's not even that any of the episodes have bad "pacing" like dragging out scenes. The filler content just adds *more* things that happen.

It's one of the lowest arcs in my opinion, but it is canon and there are a few plot points that thread into the rest of the saga...

It's pretty well paced besides the four "anime canon" episodes in the middle (213-216). I think it would be better to record it all than leave those episodes out of the recording since watching it all would still tell a complete story without holes in it. If you do decide to just stream it, it would be nice to just post the unedited VOD of those episodes here incase people want to watch it. Up to you though.

This is a hard choice. I think it is more important than people give it credit for, but it also drags with the filler episodes.
