Yeah.... Oda can lay in some pretty heavy IRL theme onto things, and yet still make it fit perfectly naturally into the world. Such a freaking genius! And ginormous troll who loves ending right on just the most cliffhangery part of everything.

2021-08-06 19:29:45 +0000 UTCHey, you should check out some of the One Piece cover stories that haven't been animated, maybe on stream since there are youtube videos compiling them. They are short series of pages showing what certain characters besides the straw hats are up to that Oda draws at the beginning of chapters, they are canon and usually important in some way. Two have been animated so far that you've seen (with Buggy and crew, and with Koby and Helmeppo) but you are at a point where you can read cover stories #3-5 which aren't in the anime. I don't think patreon lets me post links but I have them saved if you want to check them out in a stream sometime.
