She strains her arm with all her remaining strength, fingers trembling mere inches from the weapon, so agonizingly close. The air grows thick with the distinctive, acrid scent of E.L.I.D fluids. Her once-cold, piercing gaze has dulled; her lashes droop heavily, casting fractured shadows beneath the flickering streetlights, as though the entire ruined city bears silent witness to her reversal—from predator to vessel. The tendrils throb deep within her core, swelling as they deposit their unknown seeds. Her body arches faintly in futile resistance, then collapses limp once more. All traces of her defiance and humiliation are ultimately swallowed by the low, relentless drone of the E.L.I.D.
