Heading to Crocodile Beach???

After Jummah prayer, we headed straight to a beach called Berakas Beach. My friend comes here often alone to tan. The place is really quiet — only 3-4 families around. It’s easy to access but a bit unkempt, with no guards. Entrance is free!

But wait — food first, right? This time we went to his friend’s eatery, Nasi Katok Ayai. My friend said Nasi Katok is kind of like nasi rames, so let’s give it a try!

It comes with fried chicken, rice, and sambal. You can choose mild, spicy, or even a mix. The taste… absolutely delicious! The sambal really hits the spot — so flavorful and savory. And don’t be surprised by the price — only 1.5 Brunei dollars around (0.09 USD). Of course, I went for seconds since I was hungry, and, well, we were heading to the beach afterward haha.

If you want a drink or a snack, you can get it here too — I bought a drink for just 1 Brunei dollar around (0.06 USD).

Feeling full around 3:30 PM, we set off for the beach and arrived around 4:30 PM
Sadly, since it’s not well-maintained, there was some scattered trash, though the place is naturally beautiful.

There are gazebos to relax and enjoy the view.

Don’t worry, there’s also a shower and restroom near the parking area.

Time to hit the beach! Well, there’s this sign first!
Besides the beach, there’s a camping area too.

We relaxed in the camp area while the beach lay below. My friend didn’t want to get wet, so he stayed up there while I went down to the sand. Let’s go!
The beach was super quiet. I was a little scared that a crocodile might appear from the bushes 😂😅. The shoreline was clean, mostly plant debris, no plastic. I really enjoyed playing in the water.
I only had about 30 minutes because the area closes at 6 PM, so no sunset view (around 7 PM).

So yeah, By 6 PM, I headed back up and got ready to return to the city. I wonder, where will the last night in Brunei take us?

To be continued . . .
