For a long time Zed (Toolboi) and I have been working on a project called Rope Daddy, where we invite other rope tops into our space for shooting. The goal is to raise the bar for ‘men tying men’ imagery and promote all the talented players in this niche space. The web site isn’t ready yet (my bad!) but our first installment is time sensitive, so here it is...
In “Radical Optimism”, two guys (Sir Malice and Alexander King) get together for a chill session that starts with little smoke and ends up with rope play and suspension.
One important thing to point out about bondage videos in general, and this one in particular, is what you don't see in the video. Before we start there is A LOT of discussion and negotiation of what goes on. We gather consensus on personal limits and safety, of course, but we also discuss imagery we’re comfortable projecting.
There is obviously weed smoking in this video. Normally, mixing rope play and mind-altering substances is too big a risk, for reasons I don’t need to go into here. But all BDSM is risky, and every risky element needs to be acknowledged and discussed beforehand. For this video, the experienced actors Malice and Alex decided to keep the rope play low key—this wasn’t a scenario for trying new things or pushing limits. Zed and I did not partake, but watched (and filmed) closely, trying not to intrude on their space.
