even though this feels boring, keep in mind that vince gilligan loves to balance heavy drama episodes with "character study" episodes. this one just wasn't as successful because it didn't really reveal any new facets of carol. definitely agree with your take that this one missed the mark- but i really hope you won't give up on the show! i've loved watching it with you and I feel confident that it WILL pick up the pace!
