Not trying to just put you down and make you feel bad, but giving this to you as more of a critique if you want to get better. This show feels like one you watched just because your subscribers wanted you to, and it feels that way. Which is fine if you're watching it alone, but because people are paying you for it, they deserve more.

I feel like you didn't pay that much attention to the characters or the show as a whole, and I wish you had done research related to the time period. It was irritating to watch. And I have a feeling your other reactions are probably similar to this as well. I'd rather see someone who engages more fully in what they're watching.

2026-01-10 13:15:35 +0000 UTCOh, this show. I was crying right along with you. It's devastating that Hawk was only able to stand in his truth once he had lost almost everyone who was important to him. I'm happy his daughter was there for him. This last episode is always especially upsetting to me because after the events of this one, still in the '50s, Tim and Hawk don't see each other again until the episode at the cabin when he's on the run from the law. Yes, it would have been better for them to stay away from each other (there is a book I haven't read and in that book they do), but those reconnection points make sense: when Tim needs a place to go after being arrested, when Hawk is drinking himself nearly to death on Fire Island after Jackson's death, when Tim is dying. One thing you may have missed in the first episode: after Marcus comes to see Hawk at his house, he calls Mary, who is now a congresswoman, and at the end of that call he says to give his best to Phyllis, who we can assume is Mary’s partner. So she did what she did and lost out on the life she could have had with Caroline, but she stayed in DC, became a congresswoman, and was eventually able to have a relationship with a woman. Loved these reactions! Glad you watched.
