Update...

TLDR: I'm planning on repricing, a full stop hiatus will not be occurring, I finally got my timelines.

A lot of you, as well as a lot of those that had their subscriptions canceled by forces beyond their control, have asked for ways to continue to support or have asked for an avenue to read the advance chapters even after my writing slows.

Patreon has been changing up a lot of their subscription services lately and one such recent change is the ability to reprice tiers. Since that's the case, I've been thinking about doing just that.

Depending on reception to the idea, I'm thinking about repricing the Primordial Tier to just 5$ and repricing the Seeker Tier to 2$. After doing this, I would resume billing. This would allow people to subscribe and access advance chapters once more, because for some reason, despite Patreon saying otherwise on all their websites, people aren't able to subscribe and access things while billing is paused. I don't know why, Patreon has no answers, and I've been wanting to reprice the tiers for a long time anyway. It just didn't allow me to before.

Of course, the reprice would come with a caveat, that being that consistent releases aren't guaranteed. It's not a surprise obviously but I'll be rewriting the Tier descriptions to fit that.

As for the advanced chapters themselves, I currently don't ever plan to release them to the public unless another chapter comes out. Those who have supported me will come first and my primary method of compensation is the exclusivity. The only way a public chapter gets released is if my patrons get one. That's how its always been, and it will remain that way going forward.

As for these repricing changes, the earliest they would occur is when the billing pause ends on May 14th. I will gauge reception to the idea during the two weeks until then and and things look good, when billing unpauses, the new prices will apply and everyone who is still a subscriber at that time will be charged.

If I plan to make the decision, I will make sure there is at least a week's notice. I won't suddenly make the decision the night before billing unpauses. This update also serves as a notificaiton that the possibility is there. However, there are two things I must disclose regarding the billing itself.

The most important is that, due to Patreon's repricing system still being unpolished, there's a chance that the new prices may not be applied to existing patrons when billing is unpaused. I'm going to get a hold of customer support to ensure that the changes I make are applied as I want them to be, but I want there to be full disclosure for you guys. I will apply the settings, follow their directions, hit the buttons i need to, but due to some settings being inconsistent with their wording, I'm not 100% sure that everything will just work. Again, I will keep everyone updated on repricing and this issue.

Worst case, the few people who happen to have their billing cycle renew on or the day after the 14th will be guinea pigs. If the billing changes to the proper price, great. If it doesn't, those lucky few will simply be refunded and I'll pause billing again until I get the issue fixed. Not everyone will be billed as soon as billing is unpaused. Billing cycles go by the day that each person subscribed their first time.

The second thing to disclose is that if I make the repricing change and open back up subscriptions, I'm probably just going to leave it there for the foreseeable future, even after I begin career stuff. I won't unlaunch the page or anything that I had originally said I may do before. The chapters would remain up for everyone to peruse and I would just continue to release when I could.

All assuming the repricing idea is a good one, of course.

Final thing to mention is that I've finally gotten my timelines. Turns out I won't be disappearing for too large a time, just a month, during July, and after that I plan to be able to release at least a chapter every week. I won't have to stop everything outright, so the show will continue and a full stop hiatus will not be occurring. I'll just be much busier than currently, but it's not like I haven't made it work over the past few years.

I'm getting my life in order and taking care of you guys is one of my highest priorities. I will keep everyone thoroughly updated and will make sure that there aren't any surprises, especially regarding anything financial. I'm just glad that I won't have to full stop everything yet. Maybe some years down the line I will, but perhaps by that time American Isekai will be seeing its conclusion, especially if I try to accelerate things a bit like I have been.

Anyway, I don't think I have anything else to share at the moment. Next chapter will be delayed, probably until Wednesday (PST) but I'm working on some good stuff. If the last chapter for Primordials wasn't hint enough, Authority 8 is coming very soon, so stay tuned.
