From the desk of the resident griffon,
Hello everyone! It's time for another Sunday post! Back at the end of May when I talked about the world vents, you might have wondered why such maelstroms had almost biome like environments inside and around them that seemed to associate with the seasons, you might have even wondered if there were any creatures that inhabited these dangerous locations.
Well wonder no longer!
Introducing Amberveil: The dragon which brings Autumn and resides inside The Ember Chasm.

Amberveil, revered as the Harbinger of Harvest, is an awe-inspiring dragon of warm hues, his scales glistening with the colors of fading sunlight and the embers of autumn. When the Sun's Arrow pierces the depths of the Ember Chasm, Amberveil stirs from his slumber. Rising to the surface, his resplendent form is illuminated against the cascading waterfalls, casting a corona of auburn, gold, and crimson reflections onto the surrounding sea. With a deep, resonating breath, Amberveil exhales a gust of cool air, infused with the scent of ripened fruits and the smoky aroma of bonfires. As this breath disperses, he sweeps over Cancordis, signaling the arrival of autumn. The trees respond to this breath, their leaves turning to match Amberveil's vibrant scales before eventually falling in a dance of descent.

Introducing Goldenscorch: The dragon which brings Summer and resides inside the Searing Caldera

Goldenscorch, The Flame Sovereign, is a radiant deity whose glow paints the sky with strokes of amber, crimson, and molten gold. His scales flicker and dance like flames, casting a blazing aura that touches every corner of Cancordis. Awakened by the Sun's Song, Goldenscorch arises from The Searing Caldera, each movement an echo of the Sun at his zenith. As he breathes his first breath of the season, a hot, life-giving gust sweeps across the world. Carrying the scent of sun-kissed earth, ripened fruit, and an acrid hint of smoldering ash, it's a promise of summer's bounty. With a mighty roar that resounds across Cancordis, Goldenscorch announces the onset of summer. The season of relentless vitality and sun-soaked revelry has begun. Under the reign of Goldenscorch, trees bend heavy with lush foliage, days stretch long into the warm evenings, and the land overflows with abundance. His is a reign of fire and fervor, where the world thrives amidst the paradox of flame and fertility. The land becomes a testament to life's resilience and capacity for growth, all beneath the watchful gaze of the Flame Sovereign.

Introducing Verdantbloom: The dragon which brings Spring and resides inside the Blossomwell

Verdantbloom, known as the Dawn's Herald, is the breathtaking Dragon God of Spring, a being of rebirth and new beginnings. She wears scales the vibrant green of new leaves, dotted with patterns reminiscent of dew-kissed blossoms catching the first light of dawn. When roused from her sleep by the Sun's Arrow in her World Vent, The Blossomwell, Verdantbloom takes flight with a grace that belies her colossal size, unfurling wings that scatter petal-like scales to the winds, each carrying the essence of Spring's arrival. As Verdantbloom releases her first breath of the season, a warm gust carrying the scent of blooming flowers and the freshness of new growth and clears away the fog of winter, it washes over Cancordis, bringing life back to the land. It heralds the end of Frostwhisper's reign and the retreat of the chill of winter, infusing the world with the hope and vitality that only spring can offer. Every tree buds, every blossom opens, and every creature stirs, all in response to the breath of Verdantbloom, the Dawn's Herald.

Last, but not least, introducing Frostwhisper: The dragon which brings Winter and resides in the Glacial Maw

Frostwhisper, known as Winter's Hush, is an ethereal dragon whose scales gleam like moonlit snow. Awakened by the Sun's Arrow, she rises from the World Vent, The Glacial Maw, her spectral form casting a dance of icy reflections onto the frozen sea. With a breath as hushed as falling snow, Frostwhisper exhales a gust of chill air that carries the serene quiet of a snow-shrouded world. As it disperses, Cancordis becomes a realm of silent beauty, announcing winter's arrival. Trees shiver in response, their bare branches hosting delicate frost, their trunks bearing the weight of the new snowfall. Winter is a time of whispered secrets and murmured tales carried by the chill wind. Heroes rise and fall against the stark backdrop of the icy landscape. It's a time of introspection and quiet reverence, tinged with an air of foreboding, as the inevitable cycle of life continues, providing a solace in its unyielding continuity.

Imagine the surprise if an explorer happened to encounter one of these titanic deities slumbering in their dens, unaware of what resides within the world vents, and what treasures they may contain. Naturally cultures around the world have their own interpretations of these dragons, with some perceiving Amberveil to be more feminine, and Verdantbloom more masculine with their seasonal aspects influencing their appearance. But to them, mortal societies are relatively invisible to their gaze, and only on rare occasions may they find truly exceptional individuals or cultures that are worth their attention.
I personally love each of their appearances, and I hope you all do as well, their influence on the world will of course be represented and I can't wait for you all to witness it yourselves. But that's all to reveal for now! So, thank you for the continued support, and I hope you have a great upcoming week.
Until next time,
~ DongDiagram
