Project vision, name change, and more!
Added 2023-03-02 19:27:58 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
Major changes are happening to SSVRCBot. The underlaying software to Joken. Thankfully the changes are mostly unnoticeable to anyone, as they are important, but unaffecting of anyone at the moment.
Name Change
After much consideration the software that makes AI女権「Joken」possible needed to be renamed to something more professional. SSVRCBot will now be known as VRCAI. Which before it meant, "Skulds Shitty VRChat Bot", it will now mean: "Virtual Reality Companion Artificial Intelligence". For the time being the url to her source code will still point to ssvrcbot, but in the future I may change the url to match the new adjustment. This does not affect AI女権「Joken」's name.
VRCAI's New Mission Statement
Most of you know VRCAI as AI女権「Joken」. AI女権「Joken」will remain a product of VRCAI, but will have its own mission and purpose. As Joken has become a star, and now mascot of the VRCAI project; However, the future of VRCAI is going into a different direction than what Joken is. While Joken will still use VRCAI as it's codebase, I plan to modularize VRCAI more and more so that different components will be allowed for the purpose of being an Idol like Joken as well as have modules and features useful to Education and medical professionals. It has become very clear to me what the future of the VRCAI project is and the more practical Institutional use cases VRCAI has.
The Goal of Both
The reason I plan to keep with both Joken and VRCAI's direction, is because one can greatly assists the other. Your all's love for Joken will now drive a more philanthropic purpose. Supporting Joken will support VRCAI's mission in providing useful AI's to Educational and Medical Institutions. In return the improvement from VRCAI will also help improve Joken.
License Change
The license is changing in a major way. Before it was open source / propriety. I have decided it is best that the codebase moves to a full MIT license. I had debated on moving to a closed source license for future releases as VRCAI, but instead have decided to make this completely open source, and ask that institutions help support the project with my Tier 3 Patreon support option. This way I can continue to develop VRCAI and expand it further into something suitable for institutional use.
