Sneak Peek: NBMF v0.11 - 2

Hi everyone!


This time I’d like to share the animation and the follow-up CGs from the last sneak peek. Also, I want to give you a heads-up: the release of v0.11 might be delayed. I’ll make an official announcement at least two days in advance if that happens. If you're curious about the reason, feel free to read on!

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I personally feel that most of the new sprites, CGs, backgrounds, and animations are a lot better in quality compared to the early stages of the game. Because the improvements happened gradually, I honestly didn’t notice until I went back and looked—the early content is pretty rough in hindsight (lol). As a result, my standards have gotten higher, and I’ve become a lot more demanding with quality. Of course, there are still some issues I just can’t fix despite my efforts, so I hope you can understand.

不曉得大家有沒有注意到,我自己其實感受蠻明顯的:最近新增的 sprites、CG、背景、動畫整體品質,應該都比遊戲初期來得好很多。因為是逐漸變好的,我沒回頭看真的沒發現,早期的一些畫面現在看起來真的有點慘... 也因此,對畫面品質的標準和要求越來越高,當然也有些瑕疵是我完全無法處理的,還請大家見諒。

  1. For the new animations, I used a larger model this time. Some of the facial details were really small, which made the eyes look blurry if I didn’t upscale. But running this model is extremely time-consuming and unstable—it randomly slows down to 10x the time it’s supposed to take. Honestly, I already asked for help on forums last month, but no one’s been able to solve this issue…
    這次動畫採用了更大型的模型,因為幾個鏡頭中的臉部都偏小,容易導致眼睛模糊。這個模型本身就跑比較久,而且常常出現問題(比如突然變得超慢、慢到原本10分鐘的動畫要跑100分鐘)。其實我早在上個月就跑去論壇求助相關問題,但沒人能解決…
  2. I’ve also been working on improving CG consistency and visual quality. Here’s a comparison between the original and final version of a CG from “Sneak Peek: NBMF v0.11 - 1.” This one alone took me over three hours.
    在 CG 的一致性和品質方面我也盡可能提升。這邊想跟大家分享一下「Sneak Peek: NBMF v0.11 - 1」的 CG 對比圖,讓大家看看原始版本和最終版本的差異。這張就花了我至少三個小時。



  1. Even after generating the required animations, I ended up reworking the CG. The original version of this scene (shown below) is something I really liked, and I believe a lot of players would’ve liked it too. But due to inconsistent lighting between this one and the next scene, I had to painfully discard it.
    雖然動畫都跑出來了,我還是重新修改了 CG。本來上面CG的這一幕是下面這個版本,我自己其實很喜歡,我相信也會有不少人覺得那版本比較讚。但因為跟下一幕 CG 的光影完全不一致,我只好忍痛捨棄那張。



  1. Then today, I looked at the next scene again… and felt it still didn’t match the previous CG well enough. So I revised it again. Here's a comparison between the previous (left) and current version (right).
    結果後一幕的 CG 我今天又重新檢查,發現還是跟前一張不太一致……所以也再次修改了。以下左邊是前一版與右邊目前版本的比較。



Each chapter brings its own unexpected challenges when it comes to CG production, and this time the main one was lighting consistency. There were several CGs I actually liked but had to scrap due to lighting or proportion issues—especially the waist, which often ended up unnaturally long or thin. These problems took a lot of time to fix. I know it’s all just “reasons,” so I’m truly sorry if the update ends up being delayed and just let everyone know what I did and why it takes more time. 每一個章節在製作 CG 的過程中都會遇到預料之外的挑戰,這次最大難題就是「光影一致性」。有不少看起來還不錯的 CG,我都因為光影不合或角色比例(尤其是腰,常常詭異地細或長)被迫捨棄。我知道這些都只是「理由」,所以如果更新最終還是延遲了,我真的很抱歉,也只是想讓大家知道我做了什麼、為什麼會需要更多時間。再次感謝大家的耐心與支持!

just saw your about. read a little bit about NTR'ed by My Dad. you should merge this 2 concept together. That would be super exciting

Seems like a lot of 2dcg artists are going back to their earlier chapters to revamp it. I totally understand but I hope it doesn't take up too much of your time as it's still great. I know for artists that things might never be perfect but sometimes it's better to continue on
