The Serpent and the Wings of Night

Some of you might remember seeing a wip sneakpeak of this back in march or april or so, so I've been sitting on this one for a little bit. Back earlier this year Carissa Broadbent approached me for a commission and I had only really read her first book, Daughter of No Worlds. So when she talked about her newest book, and The Serpent and The Wings of Night, I decided to check it out, just because I was curious.
Oh my god. I read it in one sitting, I COULD NOT STOP, what a fantastic book. Raihn and Oraya from The Serpent and the Wings of Night is one of my favourite bookish couples, and if you haven't read the book yet: what on earth are you waiting for?! Go go go!
tried my best to make Raihn weathered and battlescarred, while superhuman and otherwordly. Sporting his signature V scar on his left cheek, and his permanently cocked eyebrow. fuckin love his description so much, but you know I'm a sucker for shoulderlength hair anyway.
and the little viper, Oraya. I tried to really emphasise her intense moon orb eyes, and slightly elongated her pupils to give that snakey look. looking at it now i wish I had gone a bit more extreme with that idea, but hey ho.

last but not least, the silk from Ilana, the ring on Oraya's littlefinger, her dual blades and raihns hand supporting her.
i had a lot of fun drawing this, done in the style of my Hunt and Bryce.
