Known Issues:

• There might be a bug that is affecting saves whenever you use the lewd button to acquire affection. I believe I fixed this but if you see any problems, please let me know.

• Sometimes when you transfer/load saves, your character name becomes <NONE> (or something similar). Not 100% sure what the fix is, but you can start a new game, re-name your characters and relationships, then load your original save... This will change the names back.

Minor Changes:

• Fixed some minor typos and text sizes.

• Seasonal event is a long scene... one time only.

Good evening Citizens,

We're finally ready to release SL 0.4.0. In this update, we continue Ferry's arc and will have her Scarlet Contract done for next version. It's a relatively modest update and it probably took longer than it should have. I held back a bit on the lewd stuff because I felt it would better to save it for the actual contract scene and didn't want to put her completely out there until then. This update basically is prelude to her Scarlet Contract, and I'm not sure what would be a good price for it. I'm thinking $30,000 but people have been complaining about grinding lately, and might just do $20,000. To be honest, Ferry is one of the original characters and she probably should have been one of the first contracts done. If you start the game from scratch, she doesn't have much of a pre-requisite to start her story. I only held back because I knew she wasn't very popular (though, I've gotten very good feedback on her story so far).

I've also decided to increase the amount of starting money from the Enhanced version of SL from $20,000 to $50,000. I want some grinding in the game, but I don't want it to be crazy. I want SL to be a relatively basic VN in terms of mechanics so I can focus on the story and get that done. That's primary focus, and always has been. I might make some changes to the Waifu Tax that we pay weekly in-game. I think it might be a bit too high. I'll continue to play my own playthroughs and see if things need to be adjusted.

Regarding Android...

For this update, I've invested a significant amount of time trying to fix the Android problem (over 2GB) and saves. I've finally found a solution, but it might take some time for people to adjust to it. Apparently, not many games do this. Basically, the Android apk file will be extremely small and serve only to download the actual game files from my server. I don't know how many requests the server can handle, but we'll see if I need to upgrade my plan or something. Please let me know if you encounter problems. The most obvious would be that your internet connection isn't stable and causes the download to cut off. Also, be mindful of your data as you download. It would be better if you're on wifi.

This is what you should see when you run the APK file and start downloading the game data. Also, I have a feeling this won't catch on (and I did mention this in a previous post) but we have the ability to transfer saves from devices by creating a synchronization code.

So basically, you go to Options -> create a sync code and write it down/screenshot (which will last an hour) -> delete the app and download the new version -> enter your code -> load your save. Again, it does seem weird and I was told that a lot of other games don't utilize this function (fairly new function), but hopefully this stops people from losing their saves. It should also be noted that this can be used on PC/LIN/MAC if you plan on transferring devices, but I don't believe you can transfer a Android save and vice versa.

Regarding delisting of NSFW games...

As many of you heard, Steam and itch recently delisted all of their NSFW games from their platform. But after a few weeks, Itch decided to re-list NSFW games on the grounds that they are free (which SL is, thanks supporters). Our analytics have returned to mostly normal, which is great for viewership. However, it does bring some concern on the future of NSFW games. Again, this isn't the first time I've seen games being taken down because of "inappropriate content" so it does create some anxiety on my mind. I could be mistaken, but I believe Steam still has NSFW games delisted.

Regarding future...

Alright, so this next update will probably be huge since, historically, contract updates have been. I'm going to definitely need time to work on this. I'm also starting Fall semester on Monday (zzz) and it's going to definitely absorb a bulk of my time. I'm a bit worried about the doom and gloom within the industry with AI taking over (there have been massive layoffs). I also feel like I'm learning that I don't actually like coding, but I enjoy working on stories instead. I hope I'm not wasting my time trying to take classes again, but we'll see. I need 2 more years to graduate, assuming I don't fail any of my classes, so yeah. I'll continue to keep you guys updated on my journey.

PS: Fixing the Android problem is HUGE too. It might not seem like anything for the non-mobile users, but it means I don't have to worry as much about memory size anymore. I can fucking finally make longer animations and stop trying to reduce quality to maintain file size. I know it doesn't mean much to a lot of you but GOD IT FEELS LIKE SUCH A BREATH OF FRESH AIR FOR ME TO FINALLY HAVE THIS SITUATION RESOLVED. Literally has been on my mind for the past 3 years or so.
