Character Preview #6 - Rita the Prodigal Mage

Good morning folks,

Work has been pretty good this month, at least at the start. I think I'm really ahead in terms of number of renders made so far, but I'm still a long way off from where I want to end 0.3.7 on. It's going to be mostly lore stuff as I setup this character's arc, but I'm probably going to slide some lewd stuff in, assuming I have the time.

The last few days have been fairly slow though. I've been staying in for most of the day, not on a schedule, and probably wasting 12 hours fast asleep. I think mentally, I'm starting to lose it again. Maybe it's due to the time of year or maybe it's because the pledge count dipped significantly last month, but I've been losing a lot of motivation to work on the project. I was hoping that Scarlet Trainer would bring back some spark into the creative process but it doesn't feel that way. I don't know. The dream isn't completely dead, as SL is my only source of income, but I am losing hope.

I compared Jan 2022 to Jan 2023 and the game hasn't really grown as much as I would have hoped. If I were younger, lived in a cheaper country, or lived with my parents, maybe I could still be happy. But I've been working on this game for over two years now and barely have a savings, barely spend money on anything, barely go out to travel. It's not a way to live and unexpected costs (such as vet bills) destroy me financially.

My full attention has been on SL since I started the project and that attention is starting to wane. To put it into context, even if SL were to double in income, it still would be under the average salary of a single male (in my age group). Just thinking about that and how settled I was with my old job (even though I hated it) makes me depressed, I think.

Anyway, now that my monthly whining is out of the way, Let's get back on topic.

"Like a phoenix, rising from its ashes! Rejoice, for the great Rita Mordio makes her transcendent appearance!"

Rita is the head of her family, the Mordio family. They are a clan of powerful mages and one of the noble families in Scarlet. As such, they maintain a good relationship with the other nobles such as Makoto's Komatsu Clan and the Royal Family (Laureate). Not only is she the head of the family, but she's also a student at the esteemed Scarlet Magic Academy.

Rita herself is a small girl with a BIG personality. She's strong and independent, which is why she's one of the least popular characters in SL. She was a originally a character before the reboot, and along with Celestia, received constant death threats through comments and DM's (honestly, I'd say she's the most hated character).

I understand that she may not be everyone's cup of tea but I'll reiterate and stand by what I've said multiple times:

• There are over a dozen characters in the game and I want each of them to be as unique as possible.
• You are not going to like every single character or every arc I create. Not every character is going to be shy, submissive, passive, or secretly have a crush on you.
• It's an H-game so who gives a shit.

Along with Rita, we will be introduced to some other students at the academy. Some of them you'll like. Some of them, maybe not.

Some notes about Rita:

• Youngest Head of the Mordio Family at age 18.
• Small in stature. Big in personality. She's confident, cocky, arrogant, and reckless.
• Claims to be Scarlet's strongest mage. The Mordios are all famous mages.
• Like Estelle, she doesn't know much about sex.
