Thoughts on 0.3.3

Good morning everyone,

We last left off with the girls going to prison. MC will visit Altina and see what he can do for her. This update concludes Altina's arc and her Scarlet Contract will be purchasable for $15,000. Afterwards, we probably won't be seeing her any time soon. We'll also learn about her backstory and see a juicy sex scene at the end. Viera won't be around for a while either, so if you're a fan of hers, I deeply apologize.

This update was a doozy. I've been messing around with different angles and it seems to make the game look better, at the cost of becoming much more time consuming. I think this update looks VERY good in terms of renders and animations. The last few updates in general have, in my opinion, been good. I feel like I spent an abnormal on this particular update for some reason though, much more than the last few.

I haven't been slacking off, of course. I think I wanted too much content in this update but just ran out of time. I was forced to cut off some dialog/scenes because of time constraints. In the future, I want to be able to take my time and just have an update whenever I have one, but I don't have that luxury yet. If I don't challenge myself and have a product every month, the project starts to die. I can't let that happen. You can kind of see why I have to push an update like this every month.

I really wanted to add some new mechanics/assets to the game and possibly mess around with code, but it just feels so time-consuming that I just never feel like I have enough time before the month ends. For example, I've been meaning to add interactive scenes with Celestia at the house but I just don't feel like I have the time, especially since she doesn't have any newer scenes once she starts living with us. It's kind of stressful updating older code just because I just never feel like I have time for it. As scenes take longer and look better, I don't know... Sometimes I wonder if the game would be better if it were just a VN.

These last few updates have been very story-heavy. For 0.3.4, I'm planning on having side scenes with some of the old girls that don't really have an emphasis on the main story. I just probably need a break and just want to mess around. It might be a smaller update than normal for 0.3.4 because I just feel like I took a huge toll working on 0.3.3. Like I said, I feel like I barely slacked off in this update and it still felt like I was so far behind on where I wanted to end on. Either that or I try and work on my other project. It's a long way to go and people seem to want it to be a sandbox. I originally wanted it to be a small VN, but we'll see... I'm not even 5% done with it. There's just never enough time.

As always, thank you all for the generous support. SL didn't really grow last month, but that's fine. I'm always thankful to have folks who support my work regardless. It really does keep me motivated and these last few months have been extremely good in terms of my mental health and sanity. Let's keep up the work for next month...
