Thoughts on the future...

Hey everyone,

Thank you everyone for your support. I know that I didn't write a dev diary for this update, but just wasn't feeling it at the time. I thought that I'd be able to concentrate on SL after my move, but I was mistaken. I think I'm still burnt out, stressed, and just troubled about things outside of SL.

I want to make it clear that I have a ton of fun working on SL. I want to do it for a living. I want to make games for the rest of my life. It's just that, financially, it's hard. I'm not making as much money as I hoped. I don't live with my parents. A large portion of the Patreon revenue goes to rent, bills, and food.

It's depressing to think, but sometimes I wonder if I'll ever be able to afford a house by 40, and I just shudder. It feels impossible at the current rate I'm going. I'm hoping that Scarlet Law can continue to grow. Every month when I see the Patreon not growing, it's a real dagger through the heart. It's hard to keep yourself motivated on something if you aren't even certain of the future.

Anyway, enough moping. Let's talk about what's going on in 0.2.11

I want to apologize. I feel like this update could have been longer, but I just needed a break from working. I need to stop working on SL ALL day and just focus on my own mental health. If it wasn't obvious already, I work on SL every day, easily over 8 hours a day. Instead of making deadlines for myself, I think it would be best if I just upload what I have every month, even if it is a smaller update. Though, I'll always try to shoot for 3 quality scenes per update.

So in this update, we finally reach the conclusion of Celestia's arc. Her "Scarlet Contract" will be $10,000. I fought with myself on whether it should be $15k or $20k, but settled with $10k. Next Scarlet Contract will be $15k+++ for sure though.

Once you purchase her "Scarlet Contract", you'll see a fairly long scene regarding Celestia's backstory. You'll also learn why she calls herself Yuuna Celestine. After that, of course, we'll have a lewd scene. I believe are 8 different animations in this update. I'm not sure if it's even worth making these small animations due to time/memory size, but I don't know, I think the scene looks really good.

Also, it's a friendly reminder that you can view story scenes on the PC inside your bedroom, and lewd scenes on the relationship screen.

I was planning on adding a dating scene for Celestia in this update too but decided against it. As I said, I really need some time for myself, even at the cost of content. Though, I will say that Celestia's backstory/scene took 3 weeks to finish and I'm really proud of what I have. I think it looks really good, and maybe you can get some sympathy for her despite her flaws.

After this update, I'll be working on Scarlet Law 0.3.0 I think. I think this will be the start of a new arc (church) and we'll learn more about the Powder Girls. I'm excited to work on it, but also mentally drained. I'll start scriptwriting probably tomorrow. For now, I think I need a good rest.
