2025-06-27 16:13:00 +0000 UTCOhhhh my least fave part of this damn story💔 my poor akin, when this came out it was such a war of people legit blaming akin and then people (obviously) being like he was assaulted what are you talking about???? Luckily having seen the og I knew all the context (which I won't spoil ofc) and i understand some people didn't but it really made my blood boil😭 It makes me so sad, of course I too wish he just told jin but I 10000% understand why he didnt. Like you said he has 0 clue what happened, he wakes up in a random place with no memories next to this guy and all he sees is hickeys on his body and an open condom packet on the floor and he has no idea what actually went down??? Fucking terrifying! Then the way Johnny treats him and speaks about it so casually is obviously going to make him assume that he "consented" to it and "let" him do whatever to him and obviously if you have common sense you know you can't consent when drunk but it's historically documented that victims will often start out blaming themselves for what happened. So you have this horrible mixture of akin having no memory of the situation, the assumption that something happened and it was his fault because he "let" it happen, the overall trauma of finding yourself in that situation and an angry and upset jin who clearly seems to know more than you do somehow and is also pretty sure that you "let" something happen, I REALLY don't blame akin for not talking about it 🥲 there's also the added element of simply wanting to deny that anything did happen to you and since he can't remember he has some sort of plausible deniabilty that nothing actually happened so as long as he says out loud that nothing happened that makes it true and having to actually come to terms with the fact that you were at the very least SA'd and at the most, you know, is way scarier and upsetting than simply denying anything ever happened. It's another very common thing for victims to not even realise what happened to them until way after because of the processing of trauma, denial to cope etc. It's just so sad. And unfortunately male victims of SA are even less likely to talk about it because of the stigma and societal bullshit surrounding it. It's just a perfect storm of everything being Way Too Much for akin and he simply shuts down and tries to deny it all and rush forward. So yeah I don't blame him at all (but to be clear I also don't blame Jin for his reaction because as far as he's aware akin legit just slept with Johnny completely consensually for fun whilst jin was away and his anger and upset is totally valid in that moment). I won't spoil but rest assured when the full context all comes out and everything is explained you'll feel a lot better 🩷
