Well.. there’s that, now what?

I still had that quest about training.

I guess I could focus on that. There’s isn’t much I can do right now. I mean, sure I was a fan of the movies, and stuff, but my knowledge was very general, and not in-depth enough to plan for the future.

I also needed to find a way to make some money.

I only had 7241 credits in my pockets, and I had a feeling they wouldn’t last long.

Maybe I should find a job. Hopefully, I won’t need legal papers to work on something, I mean, I don’t recall the movies making any mention of that, then again… even if they did, I doubt I would remember such an insignificant detail, at least compared to the other things happening in the franchise.

Taking a deep breath, I dropped on my bed, closing my eyes to gather my thoughts. I felt a wave of exhaustion wash over me. Despite having this RPG system or whatever to guide me, life in the Star Wars universe was proving to be a whole lot harder than I bargained for.

I ran my fingers through my unkempt beard, and sighed once more. "I really need to shave, I haven’t shaved since I arrived here."

As I mused about cutting my beard, a deep, gravelly voice echoed through the hallway. "Delivery for Sion Wells."

Delivery?

I didn’t order anything.

Fuck, I bet my ass this is another bounty hunter.

[New Quest: Survive The Second Round!

Looks like your presence hasn't gone unnoticed, mate. Ready to rumble?

Objective: Survive the confrontation. (0/1)

Rewards: ???]

I groaned internally, rolling off the bed and onto my feet. The quest information hovered in my vision, as I stared at the door before saying. "Coming! I’m just dressing up!"

I guess this a time as good as any to test my class. Technomancer. Taking a deep breath, I focused on what I could reach, connecting my sight to a camara in the hallway and using it to glimpse the unwanted guest.

He was a large, burly man, his silhouette bulging with what could only be heavy weaponry. His rough, scarred face matched his voice perfectly, gravelly and unpleasant. A dangerous opponent, no doubt about it.

"Shit," I muttered to myself.

Though now I think about it. The guy is armed from head to toe… and most weapons in the star war universe are fully technological, sooo shouldn’t that mean I can… interact with his arsenal? And if I could… I could just kill him with his own weapons.

I glanced at the man again, seeing his many weapons, one of them in particular, getting my attention. A grenade.

"Alright," I murmured to myself, summoning up every shred of focus I could muster. The grenade on his belt, it was a small, blinking dot in my vision, its technological pulse visible to me thanks to the Technomancer class abilities.

I… could detonate it.

From here… I could feel my connection to the grenade, a surging, nebulous strand in the digital ether. It was tangible, an almost physical tether that ran from the device back to me.

I smiled, feeling a surge of adrenaline. Slowly, I began to manipulate the data, my mind working to override the safety mechanisms built into the grenade. A bead of sweat trickled down my temple, but I barely noticed it. My gaze was locked onto the pulsating dot, my mind laser-focused on sabotaging the kill switch.

Pressure. More pressure. The pulse quickened, the device calibrated for a different purpose. A surge of data rushed past my senses, making me dizzy for a moment. I clenched my teeth, forcing myself to hold on.

"Ready or not, here I come, Wells!" The man bellowed, his hand reaching for the door control.

Just as his fingers brushed the panel, I pulled on the invisible tether connecting me to the grenade. I felt the device spring to life, its internal system overriding with a surge of corrupt data. For a split second, time seemed to stand still. Then, with an earsplitting blast, the grenade detonated.

The hallway was engulfed in a bright flash, followed by a shockwave that threw me off my feet. I hit the floor, hard, with the taste of dust and ozone filling my mouth. My ears rang with the deafening explosion, but through it all, I could hear the man's surprised scream cut short.

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

My head spun as I pushed against the floor, trying to regain my footing. The HUD flickered in my vision, the words 'You have leveled up!' splashing across it with a satisfying ding. That was one hell of a rush. With a grunt, I pulled myself up, pushing against the debris and smoke around me.

Note to self, never detonate a grenade so close to you.

The man's body lay a few feet away, lifeless and charred. Through the smoke and dust, my HUD illuminated the dark corridor with a ghostly glow, highlighting the destruction wrought by my actions.

I approached the man, intending to see if there was anything I could take from him before leaving, but there wasn’t much to recover from him, or much of him anyways.

I better find another place to hide.

Maybe I should camp in a forest or something, if this guy found me here, its only a matter of time before others come.

Thanks for the chapter

Nazarickk

The first one tracked him. The second one just followed our MC back to the hotel after our MC kill the other.

DocTock

Oh boy, it's like some netrunner from Cyberpunk with hacks. That's going to be a fun class for the MC to play around with.

LongSongGolden

How are these bounty hunters even finding him anyway??

Love the story

Austin

Sorry I was missing, was taking care of a few legal details with my father's death. The tipical ordeal of who gets what and when, and who has to pay what and stuff.
