Final Update: Computer Troubles

Update 5/9/22: Happy May! Guess what... I'm typing this message from my laptop! My parts FINALLY arrived and I managed to do the repair myself (I was sweating like crazy but I DID IT haha), so I'm finally able to create again! So: Since billing is paused for May, I've decided to spend most of this month catching on up all of my WIPs so I'll have lots of new content ready to post in June. That being said, I will try to get a poll or 2 up before the end of the month, because I'd hate to leave my current patrons hanging, especially since you've all shown me such support and patience these past few months. 

Thanks again to all of you for your understanding and support! You're the best and I'm SO happy to finally be back 🙌🥰

Update 4/24/22: Hello again. I finally received a shipping update about my parts, and they're apparently still caught up in customs. I doubt my package will arrive anytime soon, so I thought it best to go ahead and pause billing for May. So yeah, that's it! I'm hoping it'll get here before May ends, but if not, I'll pause for a June as well. I'll continue to keep you updated!

Update 4/19/22: Hi everyone 👋 it's been a while since my last update. My parts still haven't arrived and are currently in transit. I've barely received any information about where they could be and I'm becoming a little frustrated about this whole process. I'm reaaally hoping they'll come in before the month ends so I can release SOMETHING for April, but the lack of news has me worried.

If they don't make it here before the month ends, I'll pause billing for May, because I feel that it isn't fair to charge anyone when I'm not holding up my promise of releasing content. I know these are unique circumstances, but still! I'll keep everyone updated and will be sure to notify everyone if billing will be paused.

Update 4/5/22: I took my laptop in to be assessed, and the technician wasn't a whole lot of help (and ended up damaging even more 🙃), so I've ordered the parts I need and will be doing the repair myself. According to my tracking info, the parts should arrive sometime before the 20th. If all goes well, I should be up and running again by the end of the month! I'll try my veeery hardest to post new CC before April ends. I'll keep you updated! ✨

Update 3/31/22: MSI can't fulfill my service request due to my laptop being out of warranty/they dont manufacture the part anymore, so I have to go to a local repair shop. I plan on dropping it off this weekend, but there's no telling when it'll be fixed, etc. Also, I had thought about pausing my billing cycle for the coming month, but with everything else going on in my life, I could really use the funds for the cost of repairs. If you'd prefer to cancel for the time being, I totally understand. Until next time 💕

The front casing/hinges of my laptop have been in rough shape for a long while now (at least a year or more), but they both finally decided it was time to snap. I've been able to hold them together with electrical tape as a temporary fix, but it just wasn't cutting it anymore, apparently.

Due to this being the only PC I can currently access for CC creation + blog upkeep, etc. I'm probably going to be without a computer for a while (since leaving the monitor open will only cause more damage).

I sent in a service request to MSI and am awaiting the verdict. I'll keep you all updated. I have no idea how much this will end up costing me, but depending on the total, I may be further delayed in getting it repaired. Again, I'll do my best to keep you updated.

Oh my gosh, that sounds like such an ordeal 😮‍💨 I can't imagine having to deal with that level of computer troubles. Mine was a fairly easy fix so I can't complain too much, but getting those couple of tiny parts took so long! It was hard being patient haha. I hope you'll get your replacement soon!

So happy for you. Laptop issues are the worst! Glad you have it fixed now. I can sadly relate with my in warranty Razer not charging. I sent it to get fixed but they said it wasn't broken. It charges intermittently thank goodness so I'm using it now tho its stuck on battery again. I have had to go to my Government's Fair Trading Department to get the reseller to get me a replacement laptop. Yay for consumer law. Boo for faulty motherboards. Anyway, Yay! You're back!
