Weekly report 254

Hi everybody.

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week and are ready to enjoy a relaxing weekend. Here's a summary of our work last week:

Chestnut:

She continued drawing several work-in-progress sprites and finished the design of the twin sisters. It took her a few attempts to get the sisters' faces right, and in the end, she sketched everything from scratch, redesigning the outfit as well as the face. Of course I still haven't posed the twins in the game, so we'll have to see them in action to ensure they work. So far, though, we're both happy with their looks and believe they match the characteristics we have in mind for them.

Pistachio:

I focused almost entirely on writing dialogues, and just today I reached an important turning point in the plot of the story. I'm being a bit slower than usual because, in addition to regularly sending the writing to Chestnut for feedback, I've been trying to have a more polished first draft -- I always end up doing a lot of editing before and while posing a scene and my hope is to reduce that a bit. In addition to writing, I've found some bugs and issues with the code, and I also had an idea for a cool achievement I coded today; 0.8 will have a total of 9 achievements.  

Next week's plan:

Chestnut and I have milestones we want to reach by the end of the month.

She wants to be done with all base sprites so that she can focus on completing new backgrounds and start with cutscenes -- her work on sprite hands and facial expressions will likely begin once I need them for the posing.

I plan to finish -- or be close to finishing-- the writing of the remaining dialogues of the update.
