Whispers of Desire: Misaki's Path First Summary and Future Plans

Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since I released the game for everyone to try. Are you enjoying it so far?

I thought I’d take a moment to reflect on everything I’ve experienced and learned during the development process. This project has been a personal challenge, especially since it’s my first time creating a game on my own.

I’m not exactly confident in my coding skills. There’s still a lot I want to improve in the game, but I lack significant technical knowledge. Well, I guess I’ll just keep learning as I go, haha.

On the visual side, I really wish the game had more artwork and better overall quality. I’ll continue practicing and do my best to create more illustrations in the future. As for animation, this was my very first time trying to animate those kinds of scenes, and I had a lot of fun with it. But I know I can do better! I’ll probably need to spend a bit more time on each scene next time, haha.

Writing is the part I feel the least confident about since English is not my first language. I’ve been trying to cut down on the overly wordy parts and focus more on the key story beats. I'm not really sure if I cut too much or if the pacing ended up being too fast, since I did cut out quite a bit of dialogue. Maybe you’ve noticed that the pacing has gotten a bit faster lately... or have you?

I feel like many of you are probably looking forward to the H-scenes anyway—so moving forward, I’ll be putting more focus on those.

Also, regarding the status system—I know it’s still a bit underwhelming and doesn’t have much impact yet. It’s something I’m definitely planning to revise and improve in future updates.

I know that my updates have been slow, and the content is still quite limited. That’s partly because I’m still getting used to everything—and recently, I’ve also been going through some personal difficulties that have affected my workflow. But don’t worry—things will be okay. I’m doing my best to keep moving forward.

I really do hope that if this project goes well, it might eventually become something I can turn into a full-time job. That would be amazing.

Also, I’ve been thinking... maybe in the future, it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to bring someone in to help me with this project. What do you all think?

As for the update plan:

Version v0.1.2 will focus on the Takeshi Route.

v0.1.3 will be the Otabe Route, and v0.1.4 will follow with the Ryo Route. v0.1.5 ???

As for the pure love route, it’ll take a bit more time—those of you following the story probably know why. Other routes, like the harem route or corruption route, will also be added in some future updates. But for now, the main focus will be on the NTR routes.

Which route gets updated next will depend on what fits best at the time, as well as the feedback.

I'm liking the game and the art is good imo, Misaki is what drew me towards trying out the game. Only thing i can ask is to not do the classic "add too many routes" like mayn devs do. They end up not progressing at all and will take forever to conclude.
