The Pharcyde's 2 FULL CIRCLE Moments on "Passin' Me By"

“Passin’ Me By” by The Pharcyde is a classic song and today I’m breaking this one all the way down. We’ll get into the scene surrounding The Pharcyde, break down the beat, the story telling, and see how there are two full circle moments around this song.

NOTE: This video is over TWICE as long as the YouTube edit, and does not contain a sponsor.

First...Bruh, what you do is a-Freakin-mazing! I will be a member for life (God willing and the creek don't rise!) I've loved the Pharcyde since Spring of '93 so this video...I hate I waited to view, but life and distractions...anyway. One thing I wanted to bring to your attention is what I believe is a pitched down sample by Whodini from "Friends" I can distinctly hear in the chorus: "...nevertheless, I'll say it again..." I'm pretty sure that's the source. Check it and tell me I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, it won't be the first time and I can accept it. If I'm right, I would love it if you could mention that sample on the video. (Not that you'd edit a video for little ole' me, but let me have my dream!) I can't promise I'll check your new stuff out when it's still new, but I will check it out. I love what you do! Keep it real DJ, keep it real. 💯

Man.. I love this song. I had the single on cassette. I played this so much the words disappeared off the tape from wearing it out. Great video B!!

Another great one and another great song. It’s nice to remember that the 90’s was not all about gangsta rap.
