Taoist techniques, internal alchemy, the pursuit of immortality, etc. I have read several articles about Taoism. "Birth is not the beginning, death is not the end." "The sky is full of beauty, but silent. Natural laws are wise, but silent. Similarly, the immortals are beautiful and wise, but they are silent and just watch the world." I really like the idea of following the Tao (the law of the nature of things). This is very much in tune with my understanding of cosmic uniqueness and individuality. I also like the idea of dantians as reservoirs of mental power. The presence of internal individual sources of strength, centers a person and makes him less dependent on the outside world. However, I don't like the amount of coercion in classical Taoism. To understand the Tao, one must renounce the mortal world and destroy all one's attachments. This is misinterpreted. Attachments and magnetism to the mortal world are outlived in a natural way. There is no need for denial or self-compulsion to renounce. For example, a person who is already 100 is no longer interested in teenage topics. When I was younger I dreamed that I would meet a wonderful guy. Now I dream of the beach, the sea and the sun.))) Attachments fall off by themselves.
